Hair & Make-up: At the Salon or pay extra $ for at my house

What do you ladies think?  I'm torn, so I'm "taking it to the knotties!" :-)  (I love you ladies and this forum!!)

Torn between saving $100 and going with my sister (the only one in my bridal party getting hair or make-up professionally done) TO the salon, or just sucking it up, spending an extra $100 and staying in the comfort of our event home, hanging out with my bridal party and family while they do my hair/make-up....

what's the vote?!

    I am going to the salon with all of the ladies in tow to get ours done.  They actually have a "bridal suite" with super nice sofas and chairs for us to relax in and still be able to chat while we are getting all dolled up.  She is even allowing us to bring a fruit & cheese tray and serve mimosas :)

    I say keep the extra $100 for yourself and maybe splurge on a pair of super nice shoes!  :)

    P.S.  Are you still able to bring your WP with you so they can spend some time with you, even if they aren't getting their hair done?  It's just such a nice time for girl talk :)

    Most likely; I just want to be sure THEY have enough time to get themselves ready, too...ya know?  What salon are you going to?  If I went to a salon I was thinking Hot Heads (Sofia Decker) and if I have someone come to me, it'd be Amber w/ Bombshells (no miminum since her salon is only avail for make-up).

    We are going to the salon and saving the money. I say, use that extra $100 on your honeymoon :)

    I am using It's Royalty Salon & Spa over in Manteo.  I know its a 15 min drive from the house (staying in S. Nags Head) but we really liked the ladies when we met them during the expo weekend and we also won a $50 off package!

    I don't know bc $100 is a lot but I've been in so many weddings and have been kind of bored waiting for everyone to get their hair done.  At least the weddings I've been in where the stylist came to the house I could get ready or be more comfortable chatting with everyone.  The salon always seems to cramped to me to relax and chat easily.

    I felt like it was nice to get out of the house prior to the wedding.  You're going to be stressed if you are having the wedding at your event home...so the time away helped me to relax and enjoy myself.  By the time I got back to the house, everything was done and I could just look forward to the festivities!  We got our hair and makeup done at the Sanderling in Duck and we were SO happy.  Good luck!
