TALK ME DOWN!!!

Okay... don't get me wrong... I really love my seamstress.  She's great at what she does, and really affordable, and has been totally dependable so far, but NOW is not the time to call me and tell me you can't meet me in 40 minutes for my FINAL fitting because you're not done with my dress and can I meet you on Friday instead.  UMMMMM.... NOOOO MY WEDDING IS ON SUNDAY!!!! I CAN NOT MEET YOU ON FRIDAY AND I STILL NEED TO TAKE MY DRESS TO BE PRESSED!!!!

Deep breaths... I know.  She told me she'd meet me tomorrow morning with my dress instead and it would be done (she only had the bustle to finish after my last appt), but now I'm all worried... will it be half assed?  At first she said she needed until Friday, but then she said she'd have it done by tomorrow?  AND she also has my Chinese dress that she was supposed to hem... yes BOTH of my wedding dresses!  One of my BMs called her back to get more details because I knew I would blow a gasket if I called myself.  She apologized for stressing me out.  She didn't remember that the wedding was this weekend, and it wasn't her intention to freak me out... she also said that she suggested Friday because she thought it would be more convenient for me (not realizing this is the wedding weekend). UGGG.... it seems like it's all sorted out now, but FFS this is not the time to give me a heart attack and make my life more difficult!

Okay.... now that I've written that and gotten it off my chest, I feel much better.  It's amazing how much drama will find you when you've tried so hard to keep things stress and drama free. :-)

Back to having fun with the final preparations and looking forward to this weekend!

Deep breaths! I know how easy it is to stress over the dress, especially the alterations. I am freaking out over mine as well with less than 6 weeks to go and hoping this dress covers "the girls" appropriately. But seamstresses can work miracles and I think everything is sorted out now. I am sure she can make it perfect for you!

breathe!!!  it will be FINE!  from what you've said of her in the past, she seems like a great tailor, so i'm SURE she will not halfass it!  and since you get to see it tomorrow, you still have 2 full days if anything else needs to be done.  i'm sure she'll realize that other projects need to get bumped for a wedding dress that needs to be worn sunday!

Thanks ladies.  I'm sure it'll be fine.  It's just so annoying. Crossing my fingers for tomorrow!

I guess I had good foresight in scheduling myself a massage for tonight!  I've definitely earned it!

Just out of curiosity- is your Chinese dress a qipao?  I had one made in Shanghai, and it looks awesome but dang, it's a PITA for a seamstress to get right!

Hope it works out for ya!

Yes it is!  I had mine made in Shanghai also.  I sent my measurements and they did it custom.  They did a great job (and in less than 2 weeks!), so all my tailor needed to do was tack down the fabric in a few spots and hem it.  I ended up not going with the traditional straight qipao because we're doing a tea ceremony... I didn't want to have to worry about the side slits and exposing myself while kneeling. lol!  It has a slight A-line to it and two small front pleats at the waist.

HA!  The slits! Yes, I know what you mean.  The two events I've worn mine to, I've stood the whole night.  Comfy shoes are a must with a dress like that :)
