Wineries...

Hi. I am a bridesmaid in a June wedding. We are having the bachelorette party one the weekends towards the end of May. We were looking to go to some kind of winery  during the day. I wasn't sure if there are any particular wineries that are better than one another around Hunt Valley, Towson, Baltimore Area... I have never been to a winery so I wasnt sure if this was a good idea of not. I just wanted to do something more relaxing during the day and I know the Bride recommended a winery but nothing more was said and it's a surprise. Can you have picnics at these places? Any info would be great :) Thanks in advance.

You might be interested in taking her to Wine in the Woods - it's in Columbia on May 15-16, and all of the local wineries have booths there.   If you scroll down a couple posts on this board, there is a thread about it along with a link to the website.

I did see that and that would have been a neat idea. We are planning the bachelorette party on May 22nd. And all the wineries I look at have nothing going on that day. So I wasn't sure if it would still be fun to go to a winery or not... any ideas?

I love Linganore Winery in Mt. Airy.  The tastings are free and the wine is actually decent :-)

I was going to suggest Wine in the Woods, too (surprise), but if you can't make that, I have heard good things about visiting Linganore (spelling?) from co-workers.

Do you have a favorite wine store near you?  If so, ask someone there - I know the owner of the one by us (who I love) would give good advice about this sort of thing.

I knew I had the thread watched, its from bride: ValentinegirlxoShe went to Linganore Winery. I've gone to Boordy Vineyards with family and liked that place. There are two other vineyards in Balto Co-Basignani and Woodhall.
    Good luck with your search!

I like Boordy and Fiore in Maryland, also Seven Valleys and Allegro in PA.

I went to a bachelorette party where we rented a limo bus and went to several wineries in Virginia - you could maybe plan something like this on the Piedmont Wine Trail in Maryland? Not sure how many attendees you have and if they would be willing to split the cost of a shuttle so no one has to drive. It is really fun. Here's the Piedmont Wine Trail website:
