We are having our reception at Greentree and we can't wait. You should look into it; great place, great people and great prices. You can really get a bang for your buck there. GL!

I went to a wedding at beckwithe point and they had a great view and really good food!!  There were about 5 courses and awesome cocktail house.

I looked at greentree country club and between beckwithe point and greentree - beckwithe would win hands down!!! The only thing I liked about greentree were the prices and the people - they were very nice .
    Congratulations!!

Welcome, congrats! I don't have any personal experience with any of the venues you listed, but I did use Jean Jacques caterers for my wedding. They are AWESOME! I had a really good experience with them. The food was amazing, the staff is helpful and friendly and they are very knowledgeable and experienced with weddings and really kept everything on schedule for my big day and executed the night flawlessly.

If you have any specific questions, let me know!

I booked with Beckwithe Pointe for next July, and I am really excited, they have an open house on Sept 17th I believe, they have appetizers, their house band, and local florists, limo services and such. I am going to attend as I booked with them while I was home in NY for a short time, but moving back up there in a few weeks yay! My mom and cousin went to the last tasting and loved it, they had a lot of fun...so my turn haah.

Thank you so much everyone! This is all such great information. I am an event planner by trade and love planning events...however this venue search is overwhelming..haha! I am very excited to start looking this weekend!

Melis5178-which venue of theirs did you use?

Have any of you...or anyone out there...opted to go with a more untraditional wedding...meaning a cocktail hour and then dinner is just fun heavy stations, etc?

    Thanks!!  :-)

I had my reception at Putnam National!  (And my sisters' friend had her reception at Marros a month before us)

We had an absolutely wonderful time! Vinny was extremely accomodating in the months leading up to our big day. It was very reassuring that the person we originally met with was still around when we got married. Antoinette was our Maitre D and she was also great.

Jean Jacques does a great job at the venues that they host at.

The place is beautiful! After what I had seen in my searches, I feel that any of the "golf club" receptions are going to bring a certain type of elegance to a wedding. But I definitely recommend PNGC. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask or PM me!

    Good luck in your search!

Hey! Congrats on your engagement! Let the fun begin!
I am from canada, my fiancee from the Bronx..so searching for the venue was pretty hard long distance. I did go to both beckwithe pointe and greentree, I didnt have the greatest experience with the banquet manager at beckwithe(he made a few borderline racist comments to my fiancee and automatically assumed we were broke and just looking for deals..kinda reminded me of a used car salesman). The venue is beautiful though! The fountain is gorgeous! Greentree's large room was amazing, and they had great prices and were flexable with food and drink (our families dont drink) We ended up falling in love with Glen Island Harbour Club and put our doeposit down already!
Please take my advice and go to each place anyway! Your gut feeling and experience on the tour day will help guide you to the right venue! Good luck!
