Baconsmom

I feel like I remember you saying a long time ago that you use sleep bras.  Any recommendations?  I'm really close to just sleeping in an underwire bra because the thought of trying to squish my super hurty tits into a sports bra makes me want to just cut them off instead.  I was thinking about hitting up Motherhood for a sleep bra or getting some non-underwire ones at Lane Bryant ASAP.

get some nursing tanks. or, tanks that have built in shelf bras. howeverm the nursing tanks may come in handy post-baby.
  • I can't find any anymore. Well, not in my size. Leading Lady has some that go up to an H.

I just bought a variation of my regular bra, from Goddess, in a wire-free. I tried to sleep in it last night. I woke up at 3am and had to change it, but I'm hoping that's just because it's new and not all stretched out like the one I've had for like 5 years.

If you try somewhere like Just My Size or Woman Within, they usually have listings for leisure bras. I can't really recco anything, because they seem to top out at an H or, sometimes, an I, and I'm an L, so.

  • They don't make camis w/ shelf bras that provide any support for a DD and growing.  I'd have to order the nursing tanks online because apparently, very few plus size women ever catch the pregnant. I need something right now :(

  • If you can't wait for internet orders, I would hit up the LB and ask the ladies what would be most comfortable. They've always been very helpful to me, and I had one recently ask where I bought my bras so she could tell other women who have sized out.

And if you do just get a wirefree regular bra, you might consider going up a band size. I think they try to lift as much as an underwire, and that's why they're tight, but you don't really need that in a sleep bra.

  • I love the ladies at my LB.  They are so sweet and helpful while feeling my boobs up!  I will definitely try that then.  I know I"m not the first pg woman to walk in and ask for bra help.

  • Ali- I have this bra.  I don't sleep in it, but it's very comfortable.  It's a step up from a sports bra without going underwire.  You can get them in store.

I got this sleep bra, but it's really only good for holding breast pads.

  • I'm not a DD, just a D, but nursing tanks were a total waste of money for me.  I agree with whoever said to just buy a non-underwire bra version of one you like.
I must have bought 20 bras while I was pregnant.   It was ri-goddamn-diculous.  I just could not get comfortable, morning, noon or night.
  • FWIW, if you buy some good ones that fit after,, it's only a few bucks to have someone who sews make them into nursing bras w/ the clippy things.
(I never found anything good while knocked up or nursing)
