Cake Table Decorations??

I'm completely stuck on how best to decorate the cake table.  The only item I have is a glass display that my parents had made with our names and our wedding date.  Every where I have looked it's always the same ideas...ie using flowers and flower petals, tuille (sp?) etc.  My fiancee and I are all about doing things differently, but I'm stuck!

    I went to a wedding once where there were framed pictures of both sets of parents cutting the cake at their wedding.
    We can't do that because FI's parents are divorced, but it was so cute!

      I thought this was such a personal and sentimental way to decorate it.  That is something I'm really trying to incorporate our other family members into it.  Just like you said his parents are divorced and his dad actually passed away when he was 18.

    I absolutely love this idea! Since I still will need a cake stand as well.  The cake is relatively small, but we do have a large Grooms cake.  Off the topic...I absolutely love your dress!!

    I DIY'd letters that said "We Do" and those were placed in front of the cake and there were little votive candles around the cake.
