So... I have an extreme fear of flying! I mean thinking about it alone sends my heart into a crazy beating pattern... So FI and I decided to go on a cruise instead of flying somewhere and we were just going to drive down to the port from ATL... So I thought I had a little more time to get over this fear. I know I have to get over it cause FI is from Kenya and wants me to go home with him so bad and he loves to travel! And I really really wanna travel too, I am just terrified to fly!!! My mom calls today and tells us that my cousin (who has retired from Delta) has some tickets for us to either give our guests or use ourselves. So instead of driving down to the port we could just fly for free and save some time and money... (heart starts beating super fast) I mean it all sounds great and all and I wanna do it I am just terrified! So I decided that I am going to go to my doctor and ask for some type of anxiety medicine or something cause I think I will have a heart attack if I don't. So, ladies, I am asking for your help... if you have any tips or advice as to how I can get over this I would greatly appreciate it. And if you have room for any extra prayer, please include one for me cause I so desperately want to get over this! TIA!
Re: Fear of Flying
Once you fly a couple of times, you may get used to it.
[QUOTE]I have a slight fear of flying and get motion sickness. I get nervous while waiting to take off & listen to music to keep me calm. I keep a small container of Dramamine in my purse when I fly & take it 1 hour prior to leaving to knock me out during the flight. My must-haves are my Dramamine, ipod, earplugs, ginger ale, and some gum. If I leave anything at home on accident, better believe I'm buying it at the airport! Once you fly a couple of times, you may get used to it.

Thank you! I will definitely look into that medication too!
[QUOTE]I love to fly. I prefer to fly then to drive. I took my first flight when I was 16 and have been hooked ever since. For some, it is ming over matter. Flying is actually safer then driving. The take off and landing are the worst part. I say worst, when really it is all good to me. For those who are scared, I would pray first, think positive, and try to relax. Get some gum to chew on. Bring your Ipod, or book. Trust in your mand to be there for you. Sit in a row seat and not a window seat. But mostly, just try to relax... and enjoy yourself.
