Yesterday, my mother asked me if I wanted to go with her to do some final shower stuff. I couldn't believe it because most of the shower things have been hush, hush and I haven't been in on any details! Since I've been just hanging out for the last several days since my surgery, I guess she felt like I needed to get out and do something. My mother had actually never been to the location either because she booked it off a recommendation from my FMIL.
Its really nice! Its at a golf club in a big room with this giant patio outside...I hope the weather is nice on July 29th!
For you Upstate folks, its at the Van Patten Golf Club at The Vista bistro (in Clifton Park). Just about 100 invites went out to the shower and about 60 people are coming! I'm so excited!
The restaurant recommended that we have one reserved table and my mother requested 2 tables to be reserved....(out of maybe 8 tables total). My mother's reasoning was one for myself and the bridal party and one for the other adults involved with the shower (my FMIL had this whole list of friends she wanted to help out with planning). Well I casually mentioned that to FMIL about the two reserved tables and she says "Well I'm going to need two reserved tables for all the people that are helping from my side!" I don't know how this could possibly be true, but since I'm not in on all the details I don't know exactly how many people she has helping her out...I guess the only thing I can do is mention that to my mother.
Is it going to be awkward to have 3 out of 8 total tables reserved? I thought it was weird enough to have more than one reserved table. Maybe we should only just do the one and allow the rest to just be seated where ever. Also, they should be there early if they are helping out, right? So they can grab a table together if they would like to sit together.
