Show me your veils please

I am debating the veil issue, I keep thinking about my family and what they'll say even though I know better. I'm wearing a light gold gown (see below) and was wondering what would look good. Also, did you cover your face?

I think the blusher is typically not worn by most second brides.  I have a Maggie dress as well, Destiny, and am doing a "waterfall" type veil with crystals and pearls along the edge every 6-8 inches.  It will hit just below my knee, hung very low in my hair.  I don't have a picture of it, sorry.

    Love your dress, it's beautiful!

Red, that's beautiful. Are you doing it in white/ivory or a different color?

I'm doing a single layer cathederal in "almond" that matches my "champange" dress. It has crsytals scattered on it along the edges.

I am not wearing one, because I am just not a "veil" person.  I wore one at first wedding because at 20 I thought I "had" to.  I had long hair back then, now I have short hair.  I don't wear hats, or headbands, or barettes, or clips.  BUT I am thinking of wearing a headband with a flower on one side.  Or...I may wear nothing on my head.

I am wearing a fingertip length veil, 2 tier, with a rhinestone applique along the edges, and I am going to wear the blusher over my face.  My 1st wedding was very impromptu, barely a step up from a JP wedding.  FI wants to lift my veil to kiss me, and I want him to also.  Mine will be white, same color as my gown.

Thank you - I'm doing it in Ivory/gold and have a different (shorter) one for the reception.  I wasn't going to wear a veil orginially, but my mom ordered the fabric from India and well once I saw it, there was no turning back!

Originally I wasn't goint to wear a veil but now I decided to go with a birdcage veil. I love the vintage look.

I am on the "nothing on my head" train as well.  I wear my hair super short (hair cut every 16 - 18 days), so I  just need to make sure I get my hair cut at the right intervals leading up to the big day.  Rock on, short-haired brides.  :)

Both of us wore veils.  NotFroofy's was a two-tier veil, and mine had a blusher.  The idea was that she would wear one layer over her face, and I would wear the blusher over my face, for the processional.  The only problem was, we both forgot.

As to the tradition of second-time brides not wearing a blusher, we had two issues.  First, a blusher is traditional in Jewish weddings, regardless of whether they are first weddings.  Second, it was NotFroofy's first wedding but my second.  We thought it would look silly if I was dressed for a second wedding and she was dressed for a first.

Anyway, here is mine, with the blusher forming a second tier instead of being over my face:

I fell in love with the birdcage veil look so I am wearing a very small, simple birdcage "visor" veil - just covering my eyes.

    bird cage veils are beautiful

Wow, I love all the different alternatives, I didn't wear one for my 1st wedding so I'm really on the fence about it the 2nd time around.

    Thanks for sharing!

I'm not sure yet. I wore one for my first wedding but I am leaning towards not wearing on this time. I am leanning more towards having a flower or nice something to hold my hair back from my face ...
