Waiting.... NWR

Well, we got hit hard by the storm on Friday night / Saturday morning.  Somehow we slept through the thunder, lightning, 80 mph wind gusts, and trees breaking.  Woke up to a war zone Saturday morning and spent the weekend cleaning up downed trees and branches.  We are still without power, and it's been HOT!  Luckily, work has power, as well as my second job I'll be at tonight.
So, we may have power by Wed, but more likely not until Saturday.  We are supposed to have a bbq on Sunday, but if we don't have power by Friday, we're going to have to cancel.
And, wedding planning has been at a standstill due to the lack of power... a lot of local businesses are closed, and I can't correspond with my vendors via e-mail unless I'm at work.  Bah!
Thanks for listening :)

  • I'm sorry to hear that.  Not having power can make life very difficult.  I'll be sending thoughts and prayers that everything gets back to normal quickly!

I feel so bad for you, and everyone else who's out. That storm came through here (Ohio) too. We were VERY lucky to be spared and never lost power. When Hurricane Ike came through a few years ago, I was out for a few days, and it was awful.  From the sounds of it this morning, most of my coworkers are still out, or got it back last night.  FI's whole hometown is out, including all of the grocery stores.

My MOH is pregnant and due TODAY....and they don't have power.  She's miserable!

  • You must be near my grandparents...they live in Bridgeton.  My one grandmother sought refuge with my Aunt near Swedesboro but my other grandmother is holding tight in her house.  My Dad took a generator down to them but we are hoping it doesn't get stolen.

Prayers are with you all down there!  Try and stay cool and be sure to check on your neighbors...this is when community means the most!

  • My friend in Ohio had texted me about spending time in a grocery store basement...  and we had no idea the storm was heading here!
    Thanks for the well wishes.
