It's the first day of Spring!

So why the hell am I suck in an office? Shouldn't we all be out on some field, picking flowers n'shhit?

Hi. What are you all up to today?

Re: It's the first day of Spring!

  • My first day of spring is very foggy!! Could barely see where I was driving on my way to the gym. But the cool air smelled delightful, like salt water and wood :)

I was supposed to work today, but I was switched to Friday again grrr. I just want my normal schedule back!

    image
  • I hate when work messes with the schedule, Binx!!!

So I woke up this morning and asked H if he wanted to go to the buffet! LOL I guess I am still on vacay mode :/
  • It's rainy here too. I had the lovely surprise of a cracked windshield this morning :( It chipped in December and was filled by Safelite. They put a line and said if it moved past that it'd need to be replaced. Well it didn't move for 3 months but this morning it was a good 2-3 inches longer
  • Hey y'all. My first day of spring is prettyyy! It's a high of 80 today and it's about 70 and sunny now. Just a normal workday here. I've got a coffee date with a good friend later and then mailing some cookies to my brother. Just a normal tuesday for me.
It is becoming extremely hard to concentrate on work when I know I only have a few days till our honeymoon. But.... I must concentrate because I have quiet a bit to tie up before I leave.

I will also add, I am feeling fantastic! I love this weather! And H and I went to the gym last night and I got up this morning to work out too! Score!!

ahhh it has been rainy rainy rainy.... yesterday driving between the two offices I witnessed someone fly OVER the cable barrier and almost into oncoming traffic. The look on the driver's face was " OOOHHHHHHHHHH SHHHHHHHHHH" I don't think anyone was hurt in the car... but it was pretty funny after the fact (when I knew I wasn't going to be hit head on).

    Today has been more rain.Booooo

I need to post a before and after picture of the pond outside my apartment...

On a cruise - we hit port in Nassau, St. Thomas, and St. Martin. We'll be gone for a week.
I'm really excited not only because it's our HM, but its my first vacation in a little over 3 years. :) So it's VERY much needed.

  • No rain here.  It's beautiful out and I'm stuck in side taking care of my mom's quilt shop for the day.  This week can't go by fast enough.  Now that the disappointment from yesterday has subsided I'm starting to get psyched for the Hunger Games.  My best friend from high school is coming in to town and we're going to go see it this weekend.

  • I am back to grind today after some good time with H.  I am really tired but I can sleep any old time.  I wanted to get as much time in with him as I could.

Bright side is it is super nice here today.  The sun is out and the temps are warm.

  • AMH, in Nassau, you have to go to Fish Fry for lunch!  When you exit the port, turn right on that street and walk along the water past Junkanoo Beach (about 1.5 miles) and you'll get to Fish Fry - it's where the locals eat!  If you like seafood, you'll LOVE it!  There's a little shop on the far side of Fish Fry called Brother Eddy's - they make the absolute best conch fritters ever, and only $2.99 for more than you can eat!  And their Sky Juice is gin and coconut milk, and is a Bahamian speciality if you're looking for alcoholic beverages.  They also have cracked conch and conch chowder and conch salad - all delicious and super fresh!  All types of seafood, too.  I love Brother Eddy's - it's cheap and good service and REALLLLLLLY good food!

Thanks Cali - We'll definitely go!! I rather eat at local hole in the wall places any place we go. They normally have the best food and best service. Any other recommendations for there? We opted not to do an excursion there since it's a shorter time in port so we're just going to explore :)

That's awesome!! We only have 6 ours there too! :) We're booking a scuba excursion in one of the other islands - not sure which one H is supposed to be taking care of that. What was your favorite part of the cruise?

We did a Pirates/Rum factory tour in St. Thomas which included a dozen free samples. :) I love Rum!  TBH I loved the entertainment on the ship the most (We were on the Norwegian Cruise Line's Epic). I've been to all the ports before and love them all but Bahamas.  I was disappointed with the other 2 excursions because they were advertised way differently then what we ended up getting. PM if you want more details. :)
  • For Nassau, we honestly just walk around.  It's a cute little town, and we walked up to the Queen's Stairs, which are an old stairwell carved into a wall.  Then we walked over to the forts to explore those.  They have a Pirates tour which I've heard is good, we just didn't budget a lot for doing anything.  Honestly, we just wandered around during the morning, then wandered over to Fish Fry and spent the afternoon chatting with locals who bought us drinks and eating conch everything.  It was fun!

  • Amanda-I think you guys got hit by the top end of what hit us down here last night. I was seriously worried I was going to come out this morning to a tree on the car. It was just nutty weather all night last night and crazy wind.

It's gorgeous today, sunny but not too hot. I'm going to re-pot some plants that I've been meaning to get to. I need to go to the mall and check out this LUSH thing for my friend's bachelorette , but I think I'll go tomorrow, I just really hate driving to the mall.

  • I've also been stuck at work all day and I'm about to leave for class...wahhhhh (that's me whining).

Random story:  I have received a package from Denver, CO with no note inside, and no name with the return address.  They are these really cute mugs that say 'Mrs. Lastname' and 'Mr. Lastname', but I have no idea who they are from.  I know one person who lives there, and she said they weren't from her.  Also, the handle was broken on mine and it made me quite sad. What do ya'll make of that?!

Someone probably bought them from a store in Denver and had them shipped to you?  Google the return address and see if it's a company - if so, ask them if you can have the broken mug replaced, and ask them if they could tell you the name of the person who placed the order.

How soon after being married can you get an annulment?

Lol I am not asking for myself... I am asking because my friend who JOP'ed last May wants to scratch the vow renewal and end it... problem is, the H keeps telling her to keep trying to fix it, and she's not happy and KNOWS she's going to leave, but I think an annulment is prior to a year, and she thinks its 6 months.

Ayyy what a mess that whole situation is :/

Oh no, it was definitely hand packaged and the address was hand written. I actually did search the address and it looks residenial. It doesn't match anyone from my guest list either. Very confused lol!

Ha, that would be a way better way to learn a lesson than having some creeper show up at your house!

That's really a shame.  She should talk to her church, if she's looking for a religious annulment.  Otherwise, she should talk to a divorce attorney.  Either way, she should talk to a divorce attorney.
