Stores with lower priced gowns?

Hey knotties,

I've just started the wedding dress search, and was wondering if there are any good boutiques, department stores, etc in the area that would have dresses under $1,000 or so. I'm looking to expand my search beyond David's Bridal :)

Thanks so much!

I don't have any specific stores or boutiques in mind for you but just a piece of advice to you and anyone else dress shopping....DRESS PRICES ARE NEGOTIABLE!!!  =-)  Most places will gladly take money off the selling price of the dress if you can "work the game."  I managed to get several hundred dollars off of mine and I know friends who have done it as well.  (At both big name stores and smaller boutiques.)  For those budget conscious brides, this definitely can come in handy!  Just don't be afraid to ask the consultant you're working with if they can do any better on the price.  The worst thing that can happen is they say no.  Good luck dress shopping!

Check out the Bridal Closet and White Swan, both in Vienna, VA. White Swan includes alterations in the price, so you don't need to worry about budgeting for that other than a bustle.

I went to Moni's Bridal Boutique in Manassas VA. I know for a lot of people it is a hike but their dresses are well priced. I got my dress half off because it was a sample.
I went in yesterday for my final fitting and it was amazing. The seamstress Anna is amazing. You will be well taken care of if you do go there.

I was fortunate to find a dress that I wanted through David's, but I truly understand what you want. There's a new store "Alfred Angelo" in Springfield, VA. Also, Nordstroms have some dresses under 1,000, Macy's, JCPenneys, and even a local boutique in Occoquan, VA. I don't recall the name of the boutique, but if you do a search I'm sure you will find one. Oh! there's actually another one in Lorton, VA that just open but I don't know if there wedding gowns are under 1,000. It might not hurt to check out! Good luck!

I bought mine at an Alfred Angelo.  $650 out the door.  Had dress less than that too and a ton of options.  Good Luck!!

Also Alfred Angelo is sold at private salons in addition to their signature stores, so if there isn't a signature store close to you, it doesn't mean a store near you doesn't have them.

I got my dress from Elle's in Old Town, Alexandria. It cost me right around 1k, but i know they had tons of even cheaper ones that are still beautiful.

I had a wonderful experience at the new Alfred Angelo store in Springfield this past July.  Lovely ladies there, and the Alfred Angelo dresses are beautiful!

Check out I Do, I Do in Gaithersburg and La Bella Bridal in Occoquan.  I Do, I Do has the larger selection.  However, the owner of La Bella is a miracle worker in terms of being able to find things you would never look twice at on the rack, but that make you look gorgeous!

This weekend I went to a bunch of boutiques, but there were two that had TONS of dresses for under $1000.

Maria's Bridal Designs in Fairfax and
Hannelore's in Old Town Alexandria had a huge sale section, and tons of samples on sale.

    HTH!

Try Bridal Images in Rockville, my neighbor got a sample gown in mint condition for just under $1,000.  And if a sample dress needs to be cleaned, try Imperial gown Preservation Co.  Purchasing samples is a good way to find a gown at a lower price point.  Good luck.
