Videography - Final Product Length?

Hi everyone!

I'm curious about the final product you are getting / got from your videographer. We asked our photographer for recommendations, and chose one from the two he advised. Now I'm really wondering if we made the best choice-- because while the length of time he will be recording is great for us, the final product is just an hour!  Even as the recording times went up and up from his provided packages, the end result is still an hour long movie. This movie includes time before while we're getting ready, the entire ceremony, and then toasts and reception things.

What do you think? Do you think an hour will cover it (assuming our ceremony is around 20 or 30 minutes), or we should see if he'll customize the package for a longer movie, or purchase the raw footage (another option)?

My fiance thinks an hour movie will be plenty ("feature films take months to film and they are only 90 or 120 minutes").  I'm torn.

Thanks for your help and advice!

I think an hour will be just fine.   Would you really want to sit through a 4-hour movie and watch people eat, stand around for photos, etc?  You want the highlights, not every single minute.

45-minutes to an hour is very normal for a finished product.  Check your videographer's demos online and make sure you like their style.  Ours is very artistic and uses mainly music.  LOVE it and can't wait to have her for our wedding.

Make sure you tell your videographer what you want.  Ours sent us a list of things we were to check if we wanted/didn't want.

Thank you both for your perspective! Feeling a nice bit of relief :)  Would love to hear any additional feedback form folks who went through the process!  Thanks again!
