RD Invite

I am sending an evite for the rehearsal dinner since it's just immediate family.

On the invite should I put the rehearsal location starting at 6:30, or just the restaurant at 7:30. We have the party room for the entire evening, so if people get there a little early it won't be a big deal. And almost everyone will be at the rehearsal.

Re: RD Invite

  • Can you put something like "Rehearsal at 7, dinner to follow?"

  • I think I would go ahead and communicate the actual rehearsal start time. That way everyone will have it in writing. Or, you could do both. Something like "Ceremony rehearsal at 6:30 at such & such place. Dinner to follow at 7:30 at such & such place."

Yeah, that's a good idea. I want to be able to communicate both locations, even though they're pretty close, and pretty much everyone will be together the whole time. I just wanted an invitation so people can kind of check the place out beforehand, and have an idea of what's going on.
  • If there are people invited to the RD who aren't going to be at the rehearsal, I might just put the start time of the RD.  That's what we did, then we just word-of-mouth-ed the start time/location of the rehearsal.

I agree...it would be a good idea to send the evite to all invited to the rehearsal dinner then do an itinerary for all that need to be present at the rehearsal itself. Having unnecessary bodies (i.e. WP dates) at the rehearsal can get overwhelming and eats up time; it is best to keep that number to a minimum as much as possible to keep people focused. We had randoms all over the place and I was super annoyed.

Thanks for this! :) I think I will just make the invite for the dinner then, and just email our WP and parents about the rehearsal.
