Best month for a summer wedding?

So... my fiance and I's original plan has been to hold our wedding in early/mid August of 2012. However, due to some financial and logistical issues, there is a possibility that we may have to push the wedding out to 2013 :(. If we do indeed end up pushing the wedding out, we'd like to get married as early in summer as possible. Essentially all of our guests are traveling (some have never been to New England), and the wedding will double as a vacation for most of FI's family and friends. Therefore, we feel the need to wait until its warm enough for our vacationing guests to be able to enjoy the weather and spend some time at area beaches.

So, my question is: what timeframe do you think would be the earliest that we could hold the wedding, given these circumstances? Is late June typically a safe bet, or would it be better to push it out to July? Is there a time/month when the weather seems to be particularly ideal for vacationing? I honestly can't recall how nice the weather typically has been in June as of late (or how much rain there has been). I'm in CT, as well, so we may have slightly different weather patterns here. Any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated!

As a July bride myself I say early July is a better choice.  Weather in June is hit or miss and often rainy!

I actually prefer June because the weather is neither too hot or too cold. July and August tend to be very hot but if your venue is completely indoors and has a/c than it doesn't really matter. July is the driest month in Rhode Island.

I was searching for the same things. I wanted the look of the Summer tourist weather in Newport, but not the prices. May 1 New England tourist season begins, so April would be the less expensive for you and your guests. We got married on the last possible weekend in April- just before the parking fees kicked in and the hotel prices doubled!

    I'd vote for June.
Happily Married!! 5.29.11 was THE best day of our lives!
