One of my best friends got in a car accident a year ago. She was hit head on by a car that spun out of control on a patch of ice. She broke both of her legs (upper and lower) and she suffered massive brain damage. That night the doctors told her parents that she only had hours left to live...but God had different plans. For the next few months she suffered tremendously. She fought to stay alive every day. She was in a coma for a long time and when she finally came out she could not move, she could not speak and she could barely remember who I was.
Last week she went back to school for the first time in a year. She can speak. She is starting to walk in a therapy pool at the hospital... and she remembers me. I'm so thankful to have my best friend back. She will never be the same again (physically or mentally) but I thank God everyday for her. God is soooo good!
