Bachelorette Party

I am planning my best friends bachelorette party - thinking of NOLA in March/April 2012.  I am looking for any help I can get.  I've never been, but want to give her the best bachelorette party! 

I get discounts at the marriott, is the marriott on Canal Street in a good location?  close to bars/restaurants etc??

If anyone has suggestions for daytime and nightime adventures I should look into, I would totally appreciate it!  We are a bunch of 20 somethings looking to have a blast and take full advantage of everything NOLA has to offer for a girls weekend/last hoo - rah!

    I had my bachalorrette parts the weekend of the St. Pattys day parade. It was a lot of fun! ! We went to the parade during the day, its sometime in March, and then went out in the quarter that night. It was fun!

    The St. Paddy's Day Parade will run on March 17th (the actually St. Patrick's Day). There will be one running in the morning through the day and there is another one that will run that afternoon. I know the later one runs through the French Quarter because I was looking at a venue that was actaully on the route.  It will be packed for both parade and they are alot of fun!! My Future FIL walks in it every year!
    Some fun bars to go to...The Gold Mine, Republic, Red Eye.

    The Premier Jeweler will come to where ever your location is that day, free of charge (home, restaurant, hotel, etc).  She will bring catalogs and jewelry to look at and play in!  Your bachelorette's friends and family order jewelry and in turn, she will receive FREE JEWELRY!!!  Your bachelorette will be so excited!!!   Premier will ship the entire jewelry order to the bachelorette's home!!
