Weekend Update

How was everyone's weekend?

Friday, I did nothing. Seriously. I went home and got on the couch with Lucy and watched TV all night.

Saturday, I woke up to a foot of snow on the ground. FI and I went to the Devils game with a bunch of friends which included arriving at the bar at 11am. We were pretty drunk by the time we got home. FI passed out before 7pm and I got in bed around 10. Winners.

Yesterday, FI and I caught up on the DVR and watched 'The Five-Year Engagement' which I thought was cute but way too long. The Devils played again last night and won (again). We're currently 1st in the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference and 2nd in the NHL! WOO HOO!

I also flipped back and forth to the Grammy's. Did anyone else watch?

Re: Weekend Update

  • Friday was the symphony. George Takei was performing A Survivor from Warsaw with them, so it was pretty awesome.

On Saturday and Sunday, I didn't really do much but sleep in and play The Sims. I took our dog Bellamy to visit my mom at the rehabilitation hospital both days and ended up doing impromptu therapy dog visits around the entire unit because word got around that Bellamy is a certified therapy dog and therefore everyone wanted to see him. I'm going to be taking him back on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of this week as well.

Tyler and I have been talking nonstop about the pope abdicating. I seriously did not even know that popes could abdicate, no lie. I guess my three years of Catholic college complete with theology classes didn't teach me about such things.

  • I did NOT get to relax this weekend!  Friday night we went out for dinner and dessert with a few friends...  it was a wild night.  on the way to the restaurant we thought I had a flat, and then we thought the struts went out on my car... but it really turned out that one of our friends was just too heavy for my car and it was causing all sorts of scary noises.  a car wreck happened right in front of us (scary!) and H got lost in construction and detours because he wasn't paying attention to the signs.  we had to park in a "tow-away" area (but luckily didn't get towed, I would have been so mad!)

Saturday was madness...  I had to study and take a test for one of my classes, clean the house, do laundry, do the weekly grocery shopping and cleaning out of the fridge/freezer/pantry, and be ready to do our Spanish services that evening.

and Sunday... oh, Sunday.  we had our regular 10 AM service at church (but had to be up early because I cook breakfast for our bus kids on Sunday mornings), and then went out to lunch with our pastor because we were doing the 3 PM service for one of our daughter churches.  and we ate WAY TOO MUCH (how can ANYONE eat that much??) and then back for our 6:30 PM service at our home church.  we left at 8:15 because we were just exhausted.

I am SO THANKFUL for the weekdays after my weekend!  I have my first big Accounting test for school and I am NOT READY... so I see a lot of studying this week.  BOO.  :(

That's funny, I watched "The Five Year Engagement" yesterday too. I've seen it before, but I felt like having it on in the the background while I did other stuff.

Saturday we did absolutely nothing, due to the snow. We did go outside and play with Kaya for about 10 minutes at one point, but that was the longest I could stay out without completely freezing.

Yesterday we went to the dog park, so the pup got to run around like crazy with other dogs for an hour. Then we went food shopping, and we at shrimp cocktail and homemade mozzarella sticks for dinner. It was an odd, but very delicious meal. Then we watched "Wordplay", a documentary about crossword puzzles (more interesting than it sounds, I swear), watched "Girls" and went to bed.

    ETA: spelling

Pretty boring weekend overall. I'm looking forward to next weekend, when the weather doesn't screw with my plans to go out to Long Island and visit my mom.

  • I just don't feel like doing any work today.
Friday night I ran to the grocery store and after that we were both bums on the couch for the rest of the night. We only got 5 inches or so of snow by me but rehearsal was cancelled on Saturday morning.  We did stuff around the house.  I slept in which was so nice and then grabbed some dinner, played some board games.

Sunday I had rehearsal most of the day. Then came home to relaxing, dinner and The Walking Dead.  It was good I was hoping for a bit more excitment I guess, but it set the stage for some interesting things to happen. Did anyone else watch?

Today I feel pretty crappy mostly because it's my totm. I realized Wednesday is Ash Wednesday I need to give something up for Lent.  I'm actually considering giving up wine because with what I can and can't eat I'm already so limited.  I haven't actually decided yet.  I could also give up something I already can't eat like ice cream.

  • Friday M and I went out for dinner, and then came home and got it on.  Twice.

Saturday I made eggs benedict, with homemade hollandaise sauce.  I worked on my taxes and work for a few hours, and then headed over to M's for a good dinner and lots of snuggles.

Sunday I ran my first 5K of the year, and I PRed at 31:28.  I'm still about 10 minutes off my age group top 10, but I shaved over 3 min off my last 5K time.  I'm definitely still on cloud 9 and feeling a little invincible.  I finished my taxes last night with Mom, went and picked up my second nightstand from Ikea, and went back to my place to do more work.

I'm basically just super excited about this week.

I was discussing his abdication with a Catholic coworker this morning, as my friends are pretty biased about severely organized religion and I was interested in hearing from a Catholic point of view, and she said the same thing that I was thinking: Benedict has been pretty lame and we want another John Paul II.

Friday: I had planned to go home and do nothing all evening but that didn't happen. Instead I happy hour'd with some coworkers and once I got home to finally relax, a good friend called inviting me to go out. I decided to go out "for a little bit," which of course turned into me being out until the bar closed. Oops.

Oh, and my ex walked in early in the night. I hadn't seen him in public since we broke up 9ish months ago and we barely speak. He was only at the bar for one drink before leaving, probably since my friend and I were dramatically singing and dancing to every song that played (including Taylor Swift.) He did come up to say hi and bye, so it wasn't too awkward overall, just...interesting?

Saturday: I was hungover. So I didn't do much of anything other than lay around and watch some tv. The ex texted me a tone point and said that not only did he see me friday, but he saw the girl he had been sort of dating for a month... out with another guy... the guy i dated RIGHT BEFORE my ex. This made me giggle because seriously, what are the odds? I almost felt bad for him.

Sunday: Edited some photos and then went over to my parents' for dinner. Got home just in time for Walking Dead. I think they've set up some good stuff for the rest of the season. I'm tempted to read the comics because I want to know what happens, but I don't want to "ruin" the show for myself either.

  • Morning ladies! My weekend was pretty uneventful. On Saturday BF and I had some friends over for dinner and then yesterday we just ran errands and went grocery shopping. I burned my hand on the oven door last night and it still hurts pretty bad and I'm hoping it doesn't leave a scar.

I watched most of the Grammys up until about 10:30ish then I fell asleep. I was looking forward most to Jack White's performance and glad I saw that. Did anyone else feel like after every performance they panned the camera to Taylor Swift who was everyone's personal  cheerleader?

  • Wink- I've been tempted to read the comics now too.  I would like to get an idea of where things are going too and see what happens.  I would also like to see how they differ the comic versus the TV series.  That would be interesting to me, but for now I'm going to wait.

  • To be honest, I don't remember much from this weekend.  It was kind of a blur.  Friday night and Saturday were a combination of relaxing and getting things done around the house.  Yesterday, I had to work in the morning and then we went out for early Valentine's day dinner last night.

  • Good afternoon! Everyone's weekend sounds like a blast! Friday: called out of work did some last minute grocery shopping including a stop to the package store. Bf came home early had dinner watched paranormal activity 4 and then tried to take the dog out and the snow was up to the back door. Had to climb out the window. Saturday: woke up to three feet of snow spent most of the day digging out and warming up. Sunday: more digging lol Today our office was closed there was freezing rain the roads are like an ice rink. I'm so ready for summer!!!!!

  • My weekend was pretty awesome. BF came up to my place and we spent the weekend watching Firefly and Sherlock and having sex and honestly I can't think of a way it could've been better :)

  • Friday: Got home to a very sick Bean and made him homemade chicken soup. We cuddled on the couch and I ordered Hotel Transylvania OD for him. It was pretty cute.
Saturday: Woke up just in time to throw some clothes on and take him to the doc. Flu and strep tests were negative (WHEW!), and doc said it just looks like a cold...for now. Because of his asthma, it tends to settle into his chest, so doc wants to keep an eye on him. Fever stayed away for almost the whole day and then came back in the evening. While he was feeling ok, I took him to starbucks for his favorite breakfast: Double Chocolatey Chip Frappe and a Bacon, Gouda, & Egg sandwich. NOM
Saturday Night I had a pity party and then shook it off just in time to eat pizza and watch a movie with Bean and El Senor.
Sunday: The crud started to settle into Bean's chest, as predicted. Shoot me. The thing with Bean is, being sick doesn't knock him out like most kids. He still maintains an incredible amount of energy, BUT because he feels like crap, it manifests into everything being an arguement. Oh, and the neb meds give him 10 yr old roid rage. I feel bad for him and I want to scream all at the same time.

  • Oh my gosh. So, I just called this parent to set up tutoring sessions for her child, and I started the conversation by saying "So, tell me about your daughter."

Mom goes "Well, she's borderline retarded!! Haha, only kidding - she's not in SPED classes or anything, but she does have a lot of processing issues. She is VERY slow."

I feel bad for this kid and I don't even know her.

BF and I watched this the other week and we thought the exact same thing. It was surprisingly long.

This weekend was pretty relax. I just stayed home and took care of the dogs. Last night I cooked dinner for the BF and we watched movies. I woke up this morning feeling like a train wreck. I don't know if the meat I cooked with was bad but I've been sick all day. It has been miserable. I tried to work from home but I fell asleep and haven't gotten up for the majority of the day. I feel super gross but my body does not want to move at all.
  • Sounds like everyone had great weekends!

I didn't do too much.  My friend canceled dinner so we just stayed in all weekend and did homework and watched TV.  Exciting right?

  • I know I'm pretty late to this but oh well.

Friday I finished up a ton of school work and cleaned so nothing to exciting.

Saturday I got up hours before the sun was up to open the bakery and get all the baking  done by 10. (Baking usually finishes up at noon at the earliest) so I felt like I was flying and everything was misplaced. Found out latter that one of my coworkers misplaced/ screwed a few things up because miss drama princess decided she doesn't like me anymore. Least to say I got it all done and some of her stuff done before she even came in at 9:30! Oh the look on her face was priceless. Seriously I wanted a camera just for that moment. Anyways spent the rest of the day in bed doing homework and playing the Sims. Then went over to my friend's and got snowed in.

Sunday, opened the bakery again then went to church. Learned how to Tokyo drift thanks to the snow and ice. Got home and watched the rest of the Arrow series with FI.

All in all my weekend was okay. :)
