Ok well its been a little over 2 weeks now but I am still so thrilled to share it. I'll try to shorten it.
Here goes, my FI and I have the same birthday, September 24th and I flew in to Philadelphia to see him (we are doing the long distance thing!). He told me he was going to plan for our birthday and I let him do him, he is THE planner. So we went to New York on our birthday and it was a beautiful day. Walking around hand in hand in Times Square, looking at funny-looking people and making jokes, it was nice to be with my boo.
Before I knew what was happening, a guy walked up to me with a rose and then another and then another. I looked at Obi ( my FI) and was like????? Then the guys ( five of them) started singing to me ("All my life" by KC and Jojo) in front of everyone in Times Square. Tourists, regular folks, EVERYONE was staring and pulling out their i-phones and cameras and snapping away.
I was still convinced this was all for our birthday and was blushing like crazy. I saw someone with a gift bag and figured after the song, I'll get my birthday gift. But towards the end of the song, the men took a knee and then I was in shock thinking, "I know this boy is not about to pop the question". He started telling me why he wanted to be with me and couldn't live without me......(fill in) of which, most of it I was not hearing due to extreme shock. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. My yes was very quiet because I was so choked up. Then the tears starting pouring. Mind you he got a camera man and videographer to tape the whole thing!
Obi gave me the best birthday gift ever!!! I love my baby so much!!!! I couldn't believe he asked me to marry him. I was so not expecting it. We fight like cats and dogs but can't live without each other.
