** Jemmini **

Do you post more here or on SB?  I've seen you on both boards, so I'm not sure where to page you!

We're going to the same holiday party this Saturday and I am dying to know: do I work with you, or do I work with your date?  :)  You can PM me if you'd rather!  I just know I am going to be wondering all night which of a zillion gorgeous women you are!

FI is still OOT so I am taking my birth mom.  I'm lame, I know.

  • Whoa.  You FI's friend sounds like he's alllllllll kinds of crazy!

You won't be missing anything by coming later, by the way.  Last year was my first -- I started here last September, in accounting -- and I didn't know what to expect, so I arrived right at 6 PM.  Yeah, big mistake!  People didn't start arriving until much later, so I think you'd be fine coming after the reception if you wanted to, although I certainly understand wanting to be there for the networking opportunities if your FI is new to the company (and the groom is a groomzilla anyway).  :)

I actually thought it was kind of lame last year, because I didn't know anyone and it gets freakin' cold at night.  I think -- I hope! -- this year will be better.

  • Yep, the roof is open.  There are space heaters but I was cold enough to wish I'd brought an overcoat.

I have no guesses as to who the entertainment is -- I haven't even heard rumors this year! -- but I did see the charge on our balance sheet.  Yikes!  If we get what we're paying for it, it should be a good show.  ;)

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and your FI when they start drawing names!  I didn't win anything last year, but a friend of mine won something like $16K.  I'm too new to be elligible for that much (you get your name in a hat for each year you've been with the company), but -- damn.  Totally jealous!

  • I wanna work where you work.
  • FI said somone in the call center won like $10K last year and $5K the year before.  We don't have that kind of luck though, I'd be super excited if he won like $100.  LOL. Doesn't sound like the odds are in his favor having only been there for a couple of months.  Oh well, the perks of working there seem to extend far beyond the Christmas party, but I know he definitely works hard there and is always super busy, but that's a good thing.  I told him he needs to keep an eye out for jobs for me too, ha ha.
