Hi ladies.  I really like coming to this board.  You all seem very nice and helpful too.  I am 42 yo and a widow and am finally marrying my longtime boyfriend.  It is his first marriage.  Since my first wedding was so long ago (20 years), I feel like I am out of the loop on how things are done these days.  If you guys could help me out with opinions and advice that would be great and so much appreciated.  It also would be great to talk to people other than my friends.  My friends are WAY too excited and starting to get a little pushy about how they want the wedding done...haha.  Probably because we are at the age where more people we know are getting divorced than married.

Are any of you guys older, or widows, or planning your second wedding, or have kids in college or have pushy friends (haha)?  I'd love to be able to bounce things off you guys and get ideas from you as well.

    There's a few older-ish gals on here. One or two other second timers too I believe. No matter what your situation is I hope you always feel welcome to post. You probably have more knowledge than all us first time brides, even if your first wedding was 20 years ago!

    Like PP said there are a couple second marriages and a few that are a little older. Either way jump right in everyone is super nice and will be helpful no matter what.

    Ditto what the gals above said!! Even though your first wedding was 20 years ago, common sense and good advice never go out of style, so please feel free to offer up any words of wisdom you have. Please feel free to jump right in- this board is pretty active and everyone here is very friendly.

    I'm 35 with 5 kids. The oldest is 11 and this is my second marrige, but FI's first. My first was in a wedding chapel in Reno and my ex and I were married in jeans and t shirts. We were married for almost 12 years.
