Anyone use/using a CD or iPod for ceremony music?

Our church has hook up for both and I didn't know if anyone has done this?

Re: Anyone use/using a CD or iPod for ceremony music?

  • We used a CD player. H's dad (also our DJ) hooked it up to an extra speaker of his so the sound quality was better, and he pushed play for us.

Your church sound system should be fine.

May I ask how you timed the music all out? I like the idea of using whatever kind of music I like and that I can have a mix, but I'm unsure how to time it and make it flow nice? Thanks so much for responding!! Any help is fantastic!!!!
  • I sued an iPod for the music for out outdoor ceremony.  I created playlists. The first had 4 songs which played as guests were taking their seats [we had a preception before the ceremony started, so the crowd needed some time, but probably not all 4 songs].

I had a second playlist for the ceremony itself. It had 3 songs.  Moms were seated and memorial flowers walked to the altar during the first, DH/his kids/his grandkids walked to the second.  My kids and I walked to the third.

Long before the wedding, i went to the venue and walked out all three songs to make sure they were the proper length.

We the had a third playlist of 4 songs, which played as guests were departing the ceremony area for their cars or to walk to the reception venue.

I had a friend who hit play for each of the playlists at the appropraite time.  Worked like a charm!

  • I am going to use a cd of music for the prelude. But not in the ceremony.
  • We're having an iPod for the reception but an organist for the ceremony.
