Bridal Lingerie - Body Shaper Suggestions?

Does anyone have suggestions on body shapers to wear under a fitted a- line dress?  I'm looking for a waist and hip shaper - wasn't sure if Spanx was the way to go or something else?

    If your dress is thicker, you can probably do something corseted or with boning to give you more support.  If your dress lays right on your body, you will probably want to go with spanx or something similar.  Thinner dresses sometimes show the boning, seams, etc of the undergarments, in which case spandex will work better.
