Got our centerpieces!

Fi and I went shopping and came across tall square vases at half off (score!!) Now I just have to google till I pass out for ideas on what to put inside. We're thinking submerged flowers and a floating candle. I'm open to all ideas ladies! :)

Submerged flowers are so pretty, so are floating candles! Maybe tulips? those are pretty in square vases.

Apparently the mobile app hates abbreviations and punctuation marks...makes me look  like I'm writing run on sentences.

Anyways, I haven't thought of tulips. I will have to google some more lol

I believe I read a post here once that fake flowers tend to bleed when submerged. Can anyone confirm this?

  • It depends on the quality of the silk florals you're getting and how well the dye was set into the fabric as well as what types of finishes they put on them.

I'd be nervous about trying to submerge fake flowers - you just never know how the material will behave once its wet (could bleed, go droopy, change colour, etc).

I definitely like the submerged flower idea a bit more than a floating tealight. I think the florals would have more impact, and you can accent them with several tealights around on the table.

ETA: I can't read. I read submerged flowers OR a floating candle. Doh.

WOW! I did not know about the bleeding issue with submerged flowers!!! I was going to do this with silk white flowers. Do you think the color will bleed? I do not want the table looking like its been attacked by white out!

I am doing this as one of two centerpieces, with both submerged flowers with candles. I will also have tealight around this centerpiece. ellyB Wedding: Tyeema & Gerik at Eleven 15 Events - floating candles with sunken petals

  • Keyaira - The best way to find out whether the flowers will bleed is to try one.

  • Keyaira, That's the exact look we're going for! Except we'll have 1 instead of 3 and lots of tealights.
