Reception Footwear

Ok, so I have my gorgeous heels that I LOVE for my ceremony (see bio). I am changing into a more casual tea length dress for the party part of the reception (I will be changing after the dances, etc). The dress is a lace overlay, tea length with a simple red sash (see bio again).

I have been REALLY struggling with what to do about footwear, as I want to be totally comfortable. Recently I have been thinking there is some really pretty crochetted footwear I could do, and then just make sure to give it some sort of traction (the use of fabric paints makes a GREAT non slip surface on anytype of slipper).

Here are the patterns I found today, do you think any of them would work?

Re: Reception Footwear

  • I think any of them would be fine, but are they comfortable? Sometimes flats are worse they cut into my heel etc.

  • Looking at the way they are crocheted the first, third and fourth look like the same stitching pattern as a pair I already have which are really comfortable.
Not sure about the second, I've never made myself ones like that before.
Worst case scenario is if they did end up not as comfortable, I don't think they'd take that long to make..
  • I love the 3rd pair with the bows!  Given all your crocheting talents I think it's a really cute idea that is "you" even if there are other shoes out there that may look better with the dress.

The third look is my favorite, but I'm not sure if I am a fan of the idea.  Sorry :(

I like the idea, I think the second or third pair would look best.  I know a lot of brides that change into slippers for the reception, but since they have on long dresses, it doesn't matter what they look like.  I think those are cute.
  • I like the 1st one....I think it they are cute and a nice way to show off more of your craftiness!!

My reception dress is tea length, so people will be able to see it. My thinking is everyone else is in barefeet, flip flops or slippers for the dancing anyway, so why not me too?
  • I think it's fine - I like the first ones :) I'm changing into flats to for the reception and my dress is a high low dress so people will be able to tell also. I think most people are going that route these days and I'm all for it.
  • I have a pair like the second ones and they are sooo comfortable. They have an embelished bow on the back which is really cute. As I recall your colors are black and red right? They would be really cute in black with a red bow or red with black...whatever you choose I'm sure it will be awesome! Can't wait to see!
