feedback on crest florist in east hanover?

Does anyone have any experience with this florist?  I am seeing very mixed reviews, with the older ones being the better ones so it is making me nervous.
I couldn't tell you the day that I fell in love...but fall I did...head over heels in fact...Can't wait until I marry the love of my life.

Expensive....you can get more for your money with another florist.

I met with them but knew immediately that I didn't like them. My planner warned me that they weren't great but I had heard from a friend that they were good so we met with them. The guy we met with (he was older, maybe the owner?) made us wait 30 minutes before starting the meeting, he kept leaving for random things, and he basically put down what I wanted and gave me a quote for what he thought I should have. Not only was it super expensive but it wasn't what I wanted!! I had no faith that he'd ever do what I wanted so I eliminated them right away.

We booked our wedding with Crest.  I would say I was mostly happy (there were a few details that went awry the day of the wedding).  We met with 3 florists, and Crest offered the most for our budget and seemed really flexible.  Plus we knew of two other people who had used Crest and were VERY happy with their work.

    Pros:
-Our flowers were BEAUTIFUL.  Not one was wilted and it was a 95 degree humid day in July.
-Our centerpieces and my bouquet were amazing and perfect.
    -They worked with our budget.

    Cons:
-They forgot to line our aisle with rose petals.
-They used gerber daisies on our cake (I specifically mentioned that I hate gerber daisies and he said there wouldn't be any that day).
-My bridesmaids bouquets didn't impress me.  They put in red dahlias when our color scheme was purples, pinks, and greens...seemed really out of place and random.
-They forgot to put in amaranthesis (those pretty hanging green vinelike flowers).  They didn't have them for our centerpiece trial and he said he couldn't get them and then they didn't have them for the wedding day.  I was disappointed to say the least.
(Despite all of these negatives, our guests didn't have any idea that anything was "wrong".  I'm a detailed person and really only my mother and I knew what was missing.  Their work was still beautiful.)

I met with them in July and was completely disappointed. Like someone else said, I waited for half an hour for him to finally settle down and when he did come in all he asked me was what color my bridesmaids dresses were. He came back with flowers that were colors I didn't even know existed in nature. My dresses were navy, but I did NOT want blue flowers!  I also didn't want roses and all the flowers for my bouquet were white roses and the flowers in the bridesmaids bouquets that WEREN'T blue, were roses... so basically I hated everything he brought out the first time. If he had asked me what I wanted and didn't want we could have avoided this whole thing, but he seemed almost insulted when I said I didn't want blue and didn't want roses. After that, he wouldn't really give me any suggestions and I kind of had to design my own bouquets with flowers that were hanging around the show room. I'm not a florist, so I ended up with very boring bouquets that ended up having roses in them because there were no other flowers in the showroom for me to incorporate!  The centerpieces were equally boring, but I did kind of like them. They were just branches with orchids on them. When I said I wanted tulips for my April wedding he said there was no way we could use them and when it came to my bouquet he somehow convinced me to put gardenias in it. even though you can't touch them and they were making my eyes water. When I left I had no idea what just happened! I think I was in such shock from the price that I felt blind-sided.... All that for only $8,000.00!!!!! We do have a large bridal party (7 adults and 4 children on each side) and needed 20 centerpieces, but I ended up going to Precious Petals Too in Fairfield and got exactly what I wanted, including tulips, for literally half the price! Coqui designs in CG was our other choice.  Go somewhere that is accomodating and takes your ideas and turns them into something you want!
