Help--Dress options please--Lace Alterations

I already posted on the OC board and was happy to get one response but I am hoping for a bit more input. ....
 I LOVE MY DRESS />it is all lace (you can see photo by clicking "Planning Bio" below).

I went to have my first alterations done and they told me that due to the type of lace/pattern it would be extremely difficult to match up the seams and therefore, the seams will be much more obvious after it is altered.  Do you guys think anyone will notice??? Should I find a different alterations person?? Suggestions??

    hmmm...I don't think you would notice unless the seamstress does a half ass job...at least that's what I think. I could be totally wrong...

    I would suggest going to other seamstress and seeing what they suggest. Is Reene in Woodland Hills to far for you? She is a knottie fav and seems like the lady to go to and I think she would give you the most honest answer.

    I agree with xxquemirasxx.  I might try to get  second opinion...or maybe you could buy extra lace from the dress shop??? Sorry I don't know of a seamstress....I haven't even bought my dress yet.

    First of all beautiful dress.  I think you should get a second opinion maybe when you call explain that you need someone that is really experienced in working with lace.  It is a tricky fabric and the first place might be right about it not matching up right, but it doesn't hurt to try and find someone else.  Oh and sorry I don't have any suggestions my alterations came free with my dress so I am using the shop I bought it at. GL!!

    Yes, beautiful dress! I would definitely get a second opinion. Many brides wear lace dresses and I would say that very few get away without any alterations! My dress was kind of similar...extremely sheer and fragile embroidered and beaded silk. Mahtab did an amazing job. I highly recommend her! Good luck!
