Invites - No inner envelope

Help, I need to address and get my invites out very soon for my May 1st, 2010 wedding.  My invites do not have an inner envelope, so where do I indicate to the invitee that they may bring a guest?  Thank you for your help.  Kristina

Re: Invites - No inner envelope

  • When possible, find out who the person is and indicate that name on the outer envelope.

If that isn't possible, include an enclosure card saying, 'You are welcome to bring a guest.  Please indicate his/her name on the response card."
  • I was wondering about that also.  Can she just put "and guest" on the outer envelope?
  • What about printing the envelopes on my printer with a handwritten font?  Is that acceptable?  My handwritting is really terrible and while there are only 21 invites to address, I want them to look nice and be legible.

  • That's fine - but it doesn't change the issue of the "and guest".  The most polite thing to do is invite each guest by name.  If it's that few, can you just call whomever you are inviting and ask who they'll be bringing so that you can address the invitation properly?

  • Good news!  I contact the invitation people and I can order inner envelopes, so problem solved.  Thank you for your help!  Kristina
