Ernest Puaa, Da Barefoot Warrior

Does anyone have any feedback about Ernest Puaa (Da Barefoot Warrior), either as an officiant or music performer?  Mostly, I'm curious about his overall vibe, but would appreciate any comments regarding reliability, stage presence, etc.  He's been hard to nail down, but has confirmed that he's available to officiate my wedding.

And, for those of you who are about to suggest another officiant, all of these guys are booked on my date: Laki, Pia, De Rego, Tino - and I've tried to contact Pastor Vance but his number is dosconnected despite the fact that he JUST showed up in one of the wedding blog posts.

  • We also have Ernest...our first choice was Laki...but he was booked.  Ernest was recommended second.

  • Ernest was our officiant and he was awesome. He speaks very well and is funny during just the right parts. We asked for a non-denominational ceremony. He started with a Hawaiian chant, explained what it meant - discussing love and the meaning of marriage, and then read us the vows we wrote for us to repeat. He was trained by Laki, so he dresses like him and blows the conch shell. We had originally tried to book Laki, who wasn't available, then booked Tino, who had to cancel. Our coordinator booked Ernest a few weeks before the wedding and we ended up being very thankful that we had him because he suited us to a T!

As for music, we saw him the next day playing a set a the Hula Grill and he has a lovely voice.
