I'm not sure what you mean by special requests, but we changed our minds a few times. For example our delivery time was first 7pm, then 6pm, then we changed it to 6:30, and they were fine. We also added on 2 trays about 3 weeks before the wedding. They were more than accomodating.
My question is more about should you actually order for 50...for those who have ordered MC before, did you order for more, less or exactly your guest list. I keep reading about having too much food. Would you order for fewer people?
We have ordered 6 apps for 26 people for the RD but the list has grown to 32. My sister thinks I should order for fewer people, like maybe 28. I also have cake.
And Magic, unless you have the exact same menu, your quotes may vary. There are three levels of appetizers.
I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

I have always heard of everyone saying that there was so much food, but it never got wasted. Like there was enough to snack on the next day maybe?
E: Have you thought of ordering like veggie and fruit trays? Or maybe adding some kind of salad?
Smoke: I am always a worrier so I would probably order for the exact amount, just in case. Maybe one or 2 less. I would hate to not have enough, and I know I always hate to go to a party or something and all the food is gone. But I am a greedy fatass so there that....

My concern is about not having enough too but how many lobster pot pies can one eat?
Plus, there is no saving for the next day. We don't have a fridge and the bridal party is getting ready in the room the next day so I don't want a huge mess of leftover food just hanging about.

I also say have them set up by 5:30. That way everything is ready right when you get up there. I think it might be weird if your guests are there and then they start to set everything up.

but a pot pie? it's so rich. i can't imagine that one would eat 4 of them...unless you don't eat anything else. You don't like the rest of my menu, Shannyn? I'm gonna cry.

We ordered for 40 people, had about that show up (give or take a few - I can't remember our exact number), and had TONS of food left over. It was a shame to throw it out, but we just didn't have room in the fridge for anything. Everyone raved about how good it was, but there was certainly a *lot* of food. We did 6 appies and 2 trays.
We had MC deliver at 6 so people could eat for 6:30, but no one ate until we got there - even though I had previously told people to dig in before we were there.
We are having them come a half hour before people start showing up as well. I booked them over a year and have changed my menu 3 times now and Scott has always been accomodating. As far as food, I rounded up to the next "5" number for my guest count. If I have too much food so be it, I would rather have more than run out. We are only doing 6 apps, no additional trays.

Right now we're at 6 different items (chicken brushetta, Jack Daniels meatballs, mini-sliders, bourbon chicken skewers, crab cakes and cedar plank shrimp as well as rolls and butter). But I think we are adding two items on, which would be the spinach and artichoke dip and the mac and cheese muffin deals. I hope we don't have a ton of leftover food, but I just want more of a variety since we're doing the reception this way. I was going to get a veggie and fruit tray from Costco, but if we add on the food we may just nix that. We'll have 40-50 guests.
Just an FYI, my office hosts events all the time. No matter who the crowd is, the veggie tray doesn't get eaten. The fruit tray is hit or miss. People go for the exciting foods first.

reading all this, I probably ordered too much food but everything sounded so good!
I ordered 7 apps: Cedar plank shrimp, jerk chicken satay, east coast crab cakes, asian short rib pot pies, mini gourmet beef sliders, feta spinach stuffed mushrooms, seared ahi tuna.
plus I got the signature salad. I should cancel one of these, but which one?? I have a few vegetarians coming so I wanted to have options for them as well.
Masterpiece quoted me $29.80 per person but with tip and tax it came out to $37.57 per person (I have 2 premium apps plus one extra regular app)
