Another Monday, another day of TK eating posts

I so did not want to get out of bed today. Bed is so comfy, and I was having some great dreams.

what's everyone's plans for the week? I'm working and getting ready for my trip back home next week. I *think* we are still going, but we found out some bad news yesterday in the family, so there is a slight possiblility that the trip will be postponed.

How was everyone's weekend? Saturday, H and I went to the beach, then dinner, then saw Prometheus in 3d. Sunday, H had to go to jacksonville, Fl for the day for work, so I did some laundry, grocery shopping and then hung out by the pool for about 4 hours and finished my book. Pretty good weekend :)

Re: Another Monday, another day of TK eating posts

  • I am so tried. This past weekend was my annual girls trip where about 8-10 of us girls from college get together. It was a blast as always. I took three naps yesterday to recover. We met a bunch of drunk Irish guys on Friday night that were pure entertainment. I laughed so hard at them singing. On Saturday night we laid out by the pool and then went out dancing. Prior to going out a friend of mine made a "booze fish bowl" drink and I think we were about 1/2 drunk before we even got out.

This week it is work work work and then a couples baby shower. It might be just me but I really don't get a couples baby shower with booze. I mean the mom to be can't drink and who wants to be around a bunch of drunks in the hot southern night at 30 weeks?!? Not me.
  • My weekend... well.. it was. Most of the weekend was spent cleaning out H's apartment. His roommates hada bee in their butt to get everything of theirs out of the apartment and were bitching that H wasn't around to help. Everything of H's is sold or coming back with me. So everything else was their stuff to pack and throw away. If it was up to me, it would all go in the trash.

You know what question I hate in regards to getting ready for deployment... "Are you okay?" Ask me if I am okay, AFTER he leaves, and stop making me feel bad because I am happy to currently spend time with my husband. Why would I want to spend this time being sad? happy memories, not sad. I have a long time to feel sad...

  • I had to call off work Friday because I couldn't put any weight on my leg strained calf muscle. I pretty much laid around all day Saturday. Then yesterday I worked my butt off. It wasn't an easy day at the hospital. I can't comprehend how Sunday's are usually our busiest day. I work 311 today.

  • Hey Jacksonville ladies, I need some names of hotels down there, preferably on the water. Also. I don't want to work right now.

  • I don't want to either. I would rather be outside at the beach or pool...nice sunny day with not much humidity however I hear summer is coming back on Thursday!

gg- are you looking for a place close to NAS Jax? or Mayport? Or does it not matter? the beach is a ways away from NAS Jax.

There are a lot of hotels on Jax beach, One hotel that H and I wanted to stay at just for fun was the "one ocean resort and spa" it is right on the beach, looks beautiful and really close to looots of restaurants.

Yeah I wanna be on the beach. AJ might be there during our anniversary and me and another wife might drive down. That way, if the guys have to work we can hang out together. I told her she can celebrate mine and ajs anniversary with me haha :

  • Hihi! My weekend was relaxing, did some gardening and cooking. H reported in to his new duty station today so he was shining up all his stuff last night, it was so cute. Today I went to a used bookstore and found my bookclub book there! Woot!

If you don't mind spending around $200 a night, I would suggest that place. I have heard great things about it. A few of the guys in H's det recomend it. But really anywhere on the beach is about $140-$300. Jacksonville Beach is a good place to look for hotels on the beach, if you want a fun beach.

If you want to be on a private beach, the Navy Lodge at Mayport is right on the beach and really nice. I mean, it is a Navy Lodge as much as anyother as far as the rooms, but the beach is pretty nice.

  • I've caught whatever crud FI had all weekend and am not happy about it. He came home from work Friday and went straight to bed. Now I have it. Sore throat and coughing, blech.

We did manage to take the dog to the farmer's market yesterday and he didn't make too much of an ass of himself. Of course, those are the only groceries we have because we normally go together to shop and FI then managed to step wrong and twist his ankle. He has a PT test this Friday so we're just hoping it feels better. I was hoping to finish all the errands I didn't do this weekend, but I think I'm just going to take some cold medicine.

  • HELLO!!! It's been forever TKworld.

My weekend for the most part was bittersweet. Saturday was H's last day off so we spent it at Busch Gardens, it was a lot of fun. We cut the day short since we needed to get home early to pack all of H's things. The few days before that I baked quite a bit, I must have baked dozens and dozens of cookies and treats! Yesterday very early in the morning I drove him to the ship since he was needed a few days earlier than the rest of the ship in preparation for Reactor start ups before the deployment. It would have been our last time together, but luckily he had some downtime and I was able to bring and have dinner with him onboard! Anyway needless to say the next few days will be a bit rough for me but life goes on!

    P.S.
I know I'm kinda talking about deployment here, but rest assured I am not breaking OPSEC. H's ship leaving this week is already out in the news.

That sucks. Hang in there! I hated when people said this to me but it will go by super fast. H's did and I thought it was going to take forever and now we are just about finished.

Very true! This is H's 5th, well we say more like 4 1/2th deployment now so we are used to it but it's much longer than other ones he's been on so that part of it will be new. We actually don't even say "goodbye," but "see you soon," "goodbyes" just suck! We don't like to dwell on the negatives, only look at positives such as building up our savings, him getting to see other countries and me possibly making port visits! This I cannot wait for! Time has been flying so quickly so it better still for the next however many long months!

Kara - totally jealous of the possibility of port visits for you! The only real port that I would want to go...and would be easy for me to fly into..they are making only a few weeks after they leave, and I can't really swing that with my job.

  • Hola Ladies.
Friends of ours had a baby late Thurs evening. I went to visit the little peanut on Fri and Sat. Went to a couple garage sales, had a movie night with a friend. Nothing crazy but was fun. I made sure to stay busy yesterday since Father's Day is not really enjoyable when you don't have a Dad to celebrate with or even call. I put together a Grill and was pretty dang proud of myself.
    I want the COOOOOKIE!

  • Kara- port visits sound fun for sure. I don't get to visit H where he is...not that I would want to. It would be hell on my hair. Wink haa

Crime- hugs to you. I lost my dad when I was two and it does suck but I have just adopted my dad's best friend as my "father" on and of course I got to wish Happy Father's day to H's dad and step dad.
