  Well, I don't know the specific photogs you met, but here are some ideas:
  
  Photogs who are in their first two years usually offer low prices just to get the jobs, in order to build a portfolio.
  
  Photos who do straightforward work cost less than those who do creative work.  For example, I got a CD that is only a digital photo album.  You click each page and you see the page actually "turn" and the next photo appears.  A fancier photographer would make the CD much more fancy with different effects, and that would cost more.
  
  Also, my photos are about 80% the same as every other bride and groom, from the traditional "bride's family" shot to the traditional "bride and groom wedding portrait."  Only 20% are individual shots that reflect the individual and different things we had or did.  A more expensive photographer is going to do a higher percentage of novelty shots, like the two wedding bands balanced on the top of a rose, the bride and groom blurred and the bridal bouquet held out toward the photographer and the bouquet is in clear focus,
  
  Another difference may be in the number of shots.  Some engagement shoots are for very few photos (we took only 6, inside, in the same clothes) and some engagement shoots get over 100 photos.  The more photos, the higher the price.  Also the price would go up according to the length of time of the shoot - if the couple is going to use three different locations at UT with three different outfits, that's more that just one location and one outfit.
  
  A higher-priced photog may use several cameras, several lenses, and several special effects on your photos.  A higher-priced photo may contract to come with an assistant, and that's more money because you're actually getting TWO people.

  Thank you Kristin, i've got some good explanations already. Though the other 2 phtographers are not available, i think i'm going to meet with the two that sentt me their  quotes and see.
  If anyone had any experience with either of them, i would love to hear what your thoughts are.

  Theres an obvious difference in the quality of the photographs. The latter of the two are WPPI which means wedding and portrait photographers international IOW they are certified and you can trust them to do a good job.

  The best advice that I was ever given was to look at the photographers work and pick one that "speaks" to you.  I personally like the quality of the second photographer but that is just my opinion.
