Booked our honeymoon!

FI and I booked our honeymoon this weekend. It's a cruise that leaves local (I'm not a fan of flying) and it goes to the Southern Caribbean. We're so excited! Also, on our second night of dinner, there will be a Honeymoon Celebration in our honor! I can't wait!

Has anyone else booked theirs? Or any idea's on what you will do?

I was researching honeymoon's this weekend actually, and wanted to stay in the US. I realized that it's much too expensive so we have a change of plans lol.
I'm considering the Dominican Republic Puta Cana- Majestic Elegance, All Inclusive and it's much, much cheaper than anything I could afford here.

When we first started thinking about our honeymoon, we also chose to stay within state lines because of the price of passports, etc.
However, that was all before we found out about the little one.
Therefore, we will not be taking a honeymoon. Simply because i do not feel comfortable leaving a 3 month old baby for a week.
ahhhh well... we'll save money

Maybe we can take a mini vaca the summer after or our 1 yr anniversary.

I am an assistant school teacher and already taking a huge risk getting married the week after Feb vacation. We are still planning on taking the rest of that week off so Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of that week. I think we are going up north to Vermont for three days where it will be cold and quiet. Just me and my hunny snuggling by the fire, sipping hot coco.

Kizzy, people have babymoons now where they go on a short vacation before the baby is born- maybe you can have a babymoon lol.. How have you been feeling lately?

Ramiau, Vermont sounds nice. I considered having a winter honeymoon at a ski resort- it sounds nice to just get away for a few days.

Lisa- I'm not too sure what it is. While booking the reservation, they asked if it would be okay to have a honeymoon celebration in our honor on the second night of dinner. I guess I was too excited to ask. They did say to dress nice because it will be Captian's night as well.

Kizzy- A coworker of mine did a mini babymoon. Just for a weekend, she and her hubby went to this cute bed and breakfast with a spa. She said it was very relaxing!

Sonia- It's the Southern Caribbean Cruise which leaves from Bayonne on 2/27

That sounds awesome! Just out of curiosity...what are the perks of a cruise in comparaison to a resort?

Sorry forgot to add, its the Royal Caribbean cruise line.

The perk for me is not flying. Otherwise, I think a resort would have more perks. Especially because most are all inclusive. While food isn't a problem, drinks need to be paid for on a cruise.

We both work for the airlines so we are sick of flying lmao Our honeymoon plans involve New Orleans then a 4 or 5 day cruise. Its just too time consuming to go to Europe or anywhere like that, plus like I said, we don't like to fly on our days off.
