Well we were down in GA for the weekend apartment hunting, and after a romantic dinner we were just lying on the bed in the hotel (I think I was actually surfing the net), and he brings up the subject of us getting married. He asked me if I was ready to be his teammate for life. (We have this thing where we always say that we're a team). I nonchalantly said of course. And he jokingly goes "YEY we're engaged!" At this point I look up from my computer and was like WOAH, wait a minute there! I don't have a ring. He said he had a ring and I didn't believe him. Proposal Story: We got engaged at Newport on the Levee by the river on April 25, 2009. It was a total surprise as I didn't think it would happen until after I graduated from UC in June. To top it off, John had planned for both sets of parents to meet us for dinner at Brio's and they ALL kept it a secret for an entire week! My favorite part is- John had went to visit my dad the week before, but had missed him at his shop. When my dad's business partner told my dad John had stopped by, Dad called me to see what was up. I didn't know anything about it, but told John it was really funny- "good thing you weren't trying to propose- Dad would have blew it!" LOL

They were gone for hours, and I was sitting at his house bored watching TV. Then he wanted to go back to our apt so we could go to Hyde Park Tavern, and I was whining the whole time because I didn't want to go there. He made me go anyways and kept disappearing once we got there. I kept asking if we could leave, and he said we could at 7:30. Turns out he had made plans w/the manager to bring the ring out on a plate w/whipped cream and strawberries at 7:30pm. The plate came out and I was like what is it??? Then he took the ring out and I hit him in the arm and said "you f**ker!" Ha so romantic!
