  Nope. Wedding invites aren't necessarily a reciprocal thing. If you don't have the budget to invite them, don't.

  If they ask just explain that you would love to invite them you are on a budget. Most people will understand.

  Nope.  Wedding invitations don't require reciprocation.  Invite whom you want, within your budget.

  All the PP's gave great advice.  We kept our wedding small and as a result cut a few people whose wedding we had attended.  We even had to cut people whose childrens' weddings FMIL had attended - the horror.
