Mine are being done by Linda Hine.  I have 3 appointments set up, and there is about 2 weeks between each.

I had mine done by Alan Ray himself of Alan Ray Bridal. I think they took about a month, but it was definitely the busy wedding season. And I wasn't living in town anyway to pick it up and I told him that so he could prioritize. He knew when I would be in town next, so he had it complete by then.

My wedding is not until August but I know they get busy starting in Apirl/May.  I went and got mine done this week and it should be done by Mid-April.  I will never go back to my alterer again as he constantly insulted my dress but I hear he does a great job.  I really hope my dress was worth the insults he threw at me.  I didn't buy my dress with him so I think that may be why he was so mean.

kmosu -- that is horrible. I hope your dress turns out great and that you don't have to deal with him again after that. Also, afterwards, you should do a review so others can be aware of how he treated you. We all like to be informed brides to know what to expect when we go to certain vendors.

I used Linda Hine. I had 1 appointment a week over 3 weeks. My wedding was in May and my alterations were done in March. However, if your dress is a zipper closure instead of a corset I would get it done closer to your wedding because if you lose weight right before the wedding the fit will be better and you won't have to schedule an emergency appointment the week of your wedding. I lost about 20 pounds after my alterations were done and luckily I had a corset back that could adjust to my body shape - zippers are harder to change and require additional appointments if your body changes after your final fitting.

I just got in touch with Linda Hine about my May wedding. She has me in for Thursday of this week and next week to pick up. I am hoping she can work my final fitting in a bit closer, but she seemed to be booked all the way through May.

I booked an appointment last week with a girl named Leah who was referred to me by a family friend.  Since I live in Washington state, I asked her when would be a good time for me to fly in and she told me the first week of June for my July 2 wedding.  My dress hasn't come in yet and I think it should be in by April.  I'll do the first fitting on June 4, and then the second fitting a couple of weeks before the wedding.
