July 2012 Weddings

I can't take it anymore!!!!! *Dress Vent*

I'm waiting on a reply from Marchesa about my gown I won and can't wait anymore!!!  I don't want to be annoying and bug my contact everyday, but my countdown today is 53 days!!!

I'm not totally stressed out about this because I absolutely LOVE my original dress that I bought, so if I end up wearing my original ($500 Morl Lee gown) I'll be a happy girl!  At least it's not like I don't have a dress at all, but COME ON people!  Don't leave me hanging like this! LOL

I feel as though I can't truly make a decision on what I'll wear until the Marchesa is done and I've finally gotten to see it and try it on!

I haven't gotten any updates on it since the begining of April... I'm trying to be patient, but it's getting really hard!

I think I need to take my Mori Lee gown to get it hemmed and bustled (was trying to hold off to see what happens with the Marchesa one)

I should be worrying and focusing my wedding planning on something else at this point in the planning stage!

Please send me some Knottie vibes!!!  Maybe I'll hear back from the designers soon!

  • I would totally call and annoy the heck out of them! Why haven't they gotten back to you!?

  • Right I agree with Bride I would be calling every other day, at least! haha
  • If you won the gown, I'm sure it's not on their priority list. If that's what they're doing, they are probably taking care of the paying customers, which isn't right by any means. I'd definitely call and remind them of your wedding date and ask for a date it will be done by.

But, in the meantime, I'd have your other dress worked on- and do whatever alterations need to be done. That way, you're not up poop creek without a paddle. And at least, you'll have something to wear.

  • I just don't get it.... is this how they deal with celebrities when they design wedding gowns for them?  Because they're loaded and rich (and probably going to be divorced within a few years anyway... or 72 days if you're Kim Kardasian, LOL)  do they not give a cr@p what their gown looks like until the very last minute???  LMAO!

It's lunchtime now, but I'm definitely calling later this afternoon to see if they have any new info for me....  This is driving me crazy!  It's the wedding check that won't go away!!!

Agree, but it was a contest sponsored by Marchesa, Lenox and Macy's.... potential bad press for all 3 big labels/companies.... so they'd better get sewing!

Oh, I completely agree with you... but I have a feeling that's how they're looking at it. They can't possibly cut this close to the wedding dates for everyone. And if so, then they need to move their final order date up so it's farther out from the wedding. I think it will come in time, but you might need to rush with alterations.

  • I just wish they would give me some kind of date or timeframe that they will have it completed by! (other than my wedding date of course!)

  • I would definitely call and emphasize your distaste for being put off by a company.  Also mention that you won the contest at the beginning of the year and was fitted months ago for it.  I wouldn't let them know about your second backup dress though so they don't think you have a backup plan.
