Favors Help - poll!

I did a search on our board looking for inspiration on favors and didn't have much luck - although I'm really curious how Koolkay's jarfaits turned out.

Since FI and I are beer lovers my original plan was to have pint glasses etched or printed with the design below - the tree is a recurring theme throughout the wedding.  Then I made the mistake of looking on the favors board and saw TONS of posts telling brides not to give out anything personalized as it will either be left behind or given right to the thrift store - a very valid point.  A lot of our guests have mis-matched kitchens to maybe they won't care?  FI and I use pint glasses for everything and I figured everyone loves an extra cup!

Now I'm not sure what to do -

Oh - another option my mom suggested was to print the design/monogram thing on cling paper (like window decals) so people can remove it??

We gave away pint glasses with our monogram (also a tree) and people toodid take them!  I've actually had some of our guests ask me if there were any left over!  i know most of my friends have a mish mash of pint glasses that they have from different beer companies, so I'm hoping ours just added to the collection!

if you do decide to go that route, we were really happy with http://www.discountmugs.com/ - if you sign up on their website, you can usually get some decent coupons from them!

i chose just the tree because that way it still ties into your wedding, but isn't too personalized to take over somebody's kitchen. i wouldn't want to use a glass regularly with somebody's names on it.

i don't like the idea of a decal because for those that want to keep it on, it could start to fall off after some time and look really bad.

I voted for you to find something else.

If you and FI love beer, you could try:
    http://www.whereubrew.com/

It was recommended to me (haven't tried it yet). But I was thinking of creating a batch and creating labels and handing out bottles as favors.

It might be something to consider.

Hey jostina! As for the jar favors, I never got around on doing them because I gettting very close to my wedding which make things busy and with work. It was very time consuming and also I have a couple other projects to do.

Why would anyone want two glasses with other people's names on them? I think just the tree would be nice though and it would remind me of your wedding. =)

I voted just the tree. But then again, I have several pint glasses in the cupboard. I have one from Pyramid, Red Robin, a blank one, one that has drink recipes on it, and one from a blogging conference I went to. The pink glass is a classic size and shape and it is reached for first in our household. But we don't serve them to guests. :) Too mismatched.

Personally, I love mismatched pint glasses, although mine are all Old Spaghettie Factory back when they used to give them out. ;)

I LOVE your tree...but agree maybe not your names. What about the tree and then small under it, the date? That makes it a little more personalized and the date makes it a little better of a momento, but it's not like your names are hanging out in their cupboards?

Too bad you don't have enough time, I saw an awesome wedding on a blog where they liked to brew their own beers so made special wedding batches. Too cute!
