Passport question (aren't I supposed to get my old one back with holes punched out of it?)...

I just received my new passport (shoot me in the face that my old one was set to expire two months before my honeymoon).  Anyway, I could have sworn the woman I spoke to in the county clerk's office where I filled out my paperwork said that I would be sent my new passport along with my old passport, but I only received the new one.

Did I misunderstand her?

Do they send them in two separate mailings?

I know it's really not a big deal to not have my old passport back, but I'm just curious.

PS - It's a general consensus among my family and friends that my new passport photo makes me look like a Latina-Asian gangsta (for the record, I'm none of those, haha) who just got nabbed by the cops.  So much for a passport photo being a good indicator of what a person looks like...  Tongue out

    This happened to me a few months ago.  They sent my new passport first then a few days later they sent me my old one with the holes in it.

    Question:  Were you wearing a white shirt with black strips.  It would have been very "Jailhouse Rock" of you.

    BWAHAHA!  You're so right!  But, alas, I forgot to wear my jailbird outfit for the photo-op.  :-)

    Thanks for the information... I'll keep my eyes out for it.
