Re: QOTD 7/23

  • Nah. We'll probably be the last to leave for the night, since we'll have to get the venue cleaned up.

  • Nope, we are taking the trolley back to the hotel and not leaving for our HM until a week later.
  • I'm really hoping to have a decorated getaway car but FI thinks it's a waste of money. I'm shopping around to find a good deal and convince him it's a good idea.

  • no...we'll probably be the last to leave. We have cleaning to do but I also don't want to miss a minute of the party!!

  • Actually, I have no idea how we're going to leave.  However, I do know that we are hosting an afterparty at our house with late night food/drinks.  Since we don't plan to have a car at the reception venue, I just envision us getting into the backseat of someone elses car and heading home.  I'm sure someone will take pity on us an give us a ride!  Besides, we hold the keys to the food....  :)  We will be going back to the venue the next day to pick up all of our decorations, etc.  Fortunately the Club will box them all up for us, we just need to pick up the boxes.

  • No, our venue is in the same complex so we just have an elevator to ride in.

  • Not sure on this one. We are going from ceremony to reception in FIs truck. Not sure when anyone would decorate it since the ceremony will be going on. Then after the reception we aren't getting away anywhere. If we go on our honeymoon Sunday as planned it' be nice to have some of those clingy just married stickers. Only because I'd want to remove them once we got to the port for the cruise.

  • Our venue is a hotel, and we get a room for the night so we will just be going upstairs. Maybe we can decorate the car for the next morning. :)

  • No, we're taking the shuttle van back to the hotel with our guests. If anyone is planning on decorating it, that is news to me, and I hope they check with the rental company first!

  • Not likely, a getaway car is not common where I'm from. We have rented a rolls royce to use for pictures and take us from the ceremony to the reception but we'd have to pay for a lot of unused hours to have it as a getaway car.

  • Nope, our ceremony and reception are at a hotel and we're staying there that night.
It doesn't have to be perfect to be everything I want!

  • No need, since our ceremony, reception, and the hotel we're staying at on the wedding night are all in the same place.

  • Nope, we'll probably be some of the last to leave and the hotel is across the parking lot from the reception venue.  We're not planning on decorating anything, but who knows what will happen.
  • Nope. Our ceremony and reception are at the same place and we're staying there that night so no need for the car!

  • Even though we are staying at our venue the night of the wedding, we have hired a horse and carriage to take us around downtown for about 30 minutes after our exit.  I am debating on having our photographer come with us for some more intimate pictures.

  • We'll be cleaaning up the venue with family so we probably won't. Our reception is at the church so we will only be leaving for a bit for pictures. Who knows...the GM might be planning a surprise to a vehicle. Lol

  • We aren't sure how we're going to leave either, but I'm sure we'll find a ride, lol.  We are also planning on hosting an after party at our place (our reception ends at 8pm), so we'll probably just catch a ride with one of the wedding party heading over there.

  • No getaway car for us.  We are staying at the hotel we are getting married at.  I don't think anyone is going to decorate our rental car either. lol

  • We haven't figured this out yet.  Our ceremony and reception are at the same place, so we don't need to rent anything between, and I haven't found a company that would just do one hour rental at 10:30 pm!

  • Nope. Pretty sure FILs will be dropping us at our hotel (which is about 5 min. away) in the BM's/brother of the groom's wheelchair accessible van lol. Not fancy, but FMIL doesn't drink and is are wedding night DD.

  • Nope since our reception is in a hotel and we're staying the night there. Transportation is still something we're working on.

  • No, well just ride home in FI's truck. I think decorating a car is cheesy.

  • We're taking the shuttle back to the hotel with the rest of our guests.  I would not be surprised to wake up in the morning and find my car decorated, by my intoxicated friends.

  • I'm not really sure on this one. Unlike a lot of people here (which I am surprised!) we are heading out straight after the wedding, granted we are only going away for the weekend but we wanted to be a couple of hours away at least so it flet like something at least. I imagine we will just be driving FIs car, as his dad's monte carlo is out of commission and I don't see it getting up and running anytime soon. That was the original plan, at least for from the ceremony to the reception... i wouldnt be surprised if some of my friends decorated it, and I wouldn't mind of they did either.
  • If the weather is nice, FI and I will walk the 1/2 mile to the hotel.  We should be out before 11pm, probably even before 10pm and I'm wearing flats, so it shouldn't be bad.  The walk is pretty basic, just a straight 1/2 mile down a street that is lined with shops and restaurants.
