I'm ready for some new Tupperware and food storage containers.
I'm looking for matching sets because matching the lids to the actual container is tricky for my dad. Also, he keeps putting them in the microwave, so something sturdy would be great!
I'm flipping through the Tupperware website, but nothing is jumping out at me...
Any recommendations?

Bloggy Mel.
[QUOTE]I obtained all of my Tupperware by taking home leftovers from my mother and never returning it. If you've got patience and time, you'll eventually end up with a full set.

lol thanks for the tip!
Right now my Tupperware collection was obtained from eating a lot of Chinese food and keeping the containers.

Love it.
I have something like this. I really like them. <a href="http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=15985453&RN=204&" title="this" rel="nofollow">http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=15985453&RN=204&</a>
[QUOTE]I like the Ikea set. It is super cheap (maybe $2-3), BPA free, and lots of useful sizes, plus the lids are interchangeable for some of them, so you're not always looking for the one and only lid that fits. They are also fairly easy to store. The only problem is I wouldn't use them to transport liquids, the tops aren't that trustworthy. I haven't found anything I love for bringing soups to work, but we also have a set of snapware from BBB that I use for bringing salads to work.

<div>I was about to say that while I love them, I bet they have BPA, but then I saw your post, and I like them even more now that I know I'm not poisoning myself.</div>

<div>I had a set that I got around 2007, and I think those probably had BPA, but when DH and I were at Ikea last fall, we found that they had ones that were specifically BPA-free, so we replaced them. I don't know if this is universal, but my old ones had blue lids, and the BPA-free ones have green lids.</div>
[QUOTE]I have THIS and i like it. It stacks in a way that doesn't take up a ton of room.

I also have this set. I love it because it takes so little space in the cupboard PLUS you can see what is in it without removing the lid. So when DH says, "K, where is the fill-in-the-blank, I can holler back - it's right there. I swear he sometimes misses the milk.
As for my DD's - I always send leftovers from big meals with them but I have a stash of gladware for that - they seem to subscribe to Mel's plan of patiently waiting for mom to send the real stuff home with them.
Thank you guys for the replies so far!
I like the Rubbermaid set that has the easy to find lids...
The Ikea set uses only two size lids? That might make it easier, for sure.
Everything the light touches is my kingdom.
[QUOTE]Late coming back to this, but I didn't mean that the Ikea ones are super crappy. I take them to work with carrot sticks, chips, crackers, and salad/leftovers, I just don't trust that they're leakproof for soup or really gloppy things.

I might get them as a back-up set, then. Thank you!

We received 2 of the Rubbermaid 34 pc easy find lid sets for our wedding shower. We love them! Perfect for storage in a small space and smaller refrigerator. Ours came from Target and you can find them on line or in the store. They are even made to be used in the microwave and dishwasher. We use ours on a daily basis and have had no problems with warping. Just make sure you vent the corner when using the microwave. Or put cling wrap on the top and make a small cut in it. Works well either way.
