Day of Coordinator?

Anyone thinking of or have hired a local Day-of-Wedding Coordinator? Any feedback or referrals? My wedding will be in Barrington, IL. Just wanting to look into pricing and whatnot for possibly hiring someone to help on the day of! Thanks!

    Day of coordinators vary greatly in cost, and from what I have heard and researched, you pretty much get what you pay for. I am using Debbie Donovan from Lilly Pops, who is giving me a discount because she is also doing my floral. She was the least expensive I found, and I'll post a full review in a few weeks when I get back from my honeymoon. Amanda from La'Di Events often gets good reviews on the knot, and she charges a little more. Shannon Gail is the most expensive of all the coordinators I looked into, but her package goes way beyond the wedding day and really makes that last two months of planning as stress-free as possible.

    I have a colleague who is providing day of coordination.  In addition, I've know her since I was 14 and can personally attest to her strengths in organization and attention to detail.

    My day of coordinator was Anthony Navarro from Liven it Up events.  I also wrote a review on Yelp that you can check out.  Highly recommend - budget friendly and he was such a superstar at our wedding!  His facebook page has pictures of his past events so that will give you an idea of what he can pull off.  Good luck in your search!

    I'm using Karolina from Weddings by Karolina. She is new in business, and I haven't used her yet, however she has been a HUGE help in planning so far, and I just have her doing my DOC.

    She e mails me regularly to check on my planning and asks to help. She has done several weddings over the last year and is very budget friendly.

    Hi there!!
    Congrats :) I met with a bunch of coordinators before I chose to hire someone. I ended up picking Shannon Gail because I just felt like she offered a lot more. Like raeyn said she offered help from the time I signed the contract and not just the day of the wedding. I payed $850 which was actually in the middle range of the pricing I did so I don't know if maybe she raised her prices since then but you could ask :) I'd be happy to share all of my reviews of those I met with so feel free to email me at marianne bride at yahoo dot com
