Great Makeup & Hair in the Poughkeepsie Area at a reasonable price???

Hi Ladies,

I'm in the middle of looking for my make-up and hair stylist.  Does anyone have any recommendations?  I'd prefer someone that can come to me and isn't very expensive.  Thanks!

    Here is who I used:

    Hair:  Hot Locks on Fowler Ave in Poughkeepsie...that is my regular salon and I love them.  You can check out their new website at:  http://hotlocksny.com/

    Makeup:  Arlene from the MAC counter at Macy's in the Galleria mall.

    both came to my house the day of.  I think my hair was either 100 or 125 and the BMs were 75 or 85 at the most.  Makeup was..........omg, i don't remember!  I do remember it was not that expensive and I did not have to pay for the trial nor a travel fee. 

    I highly recommend both

    Aw only one suggestion and three of us looking.  I haven't started looking yet but I know it's going to be an issue.  I live in Philly so I don't know any stylists in Poughkeepsie, and I know I don't like who my Mom goes to.

    Hi Again!  I noticed that in other posts brides mentioned Jill from JK flashy and Christine from colormakeup and I checked them and others that I found online.  They were either too expensive or they only did hair or they only did makeup or they never responded to my messages or they were already booked for my day.  However, I found someone that is in Chester, NY and she does hair AND makeup....both REALLY GOOD TOO....for a great price and she'll travel to me that day!  Call me crazy but I just went ahead and booked her before a trial because I didn't want to lose her.  After seeing all of her work online I don't really have any worries of what she can do.  Also, I'll just have my trial in the coming weeks when I do my engagement pics.  Here's her website  :

    Thanks for the update!  The pics on the website are beautiful, and I think I've heard of her in something I was reading recently about planning your wedding in the area!  I love that she does both hair and makeup so you don't have to worry about finding two people. 

    As long as you don't have really strange hair or something really unusual in mind, I think you're fine booking her without a trial!

    I have really short hair - and NONE of the photos I ever see of brides show ones with short hair.
