Officiant Cost

We started looking at booking our ceremony officiant and found some prices to be MUCH higher than others. Has anyone booked theirs yet in the South new Jersey area that could give me a ballpark estimate? Thanks so much!

    One of the churches we went to said $300.  The pastor at the church I go to hasn't actually given us a number yet. Hope my very little information helps!

    One guy was trying to charge us $700 for performing our ceremony and doing a rehearsal, I found that kind of extreme! I know it's silly because we are willing to spend so much on other aspects of our wedding rather than the nuptials themselves but $700 really did seem high....

    $700 sounds crazy! I wouldn't want to pay that much for it either.

    We were quoted between 425 and 500 from all the people we contacted. We are in the Ocean County area.

    we paid $400 for Andy Mahaney and he was awesome.  Our ceremony was so personal and heartfelt...he even laughed at our funny vows..He has a great personality and also has some different ideas that you dont see everyday...hope this helps and good luck in your search

    PS we did not have a church wedding just an outdoor ceremony, but he worked great with our priest who played an important role.

    Most of the quotes I got in Ocean County were about $300-400. Luckily, my future MIL is friends with a Mayor so we got hooked up!

    We were quoted 250 to 700  but it depends on exactly what you want and how personalized the ceremony will be. The average seemed to be about 450. Our guy is $400 and I love him. Let me know if you want the contact info.

    Remeber the art of negotiation! I talked them down from 450$ to 250$! Almost everything is negotiatble it never hurts to try!

    Our officiant, Rev. Hieisinger was amazing and charged $250.  He'll help you design your own ceremony and was wonderful to work with.  He goes above and beyond.  His website is http://www.themarriageman.com/

    Campergrlsugar - Can you tell me more about your officiant?  We've been looking for one for awhile now, we are very religious, but are not having a church wedding.  We're looking for someone who can bring the religious aspect in, even though we won't be in a church.  Any info would be greatly appreciated!!
