RUDE Boards?

Has anyone else come across Mean or Rude Boards here? Man I tell ya some of these ladies are down right vicious.

I'm curious if anyone else knows what I am talking about.

P.s I love this board!!! You ladies are the best! Since my wedding is a ways off it will be interesting to see the next wave. Hope the new girls are just as great.

    Oh, there are definitely some rude/mean boards here, and I've stopped even looking at them anymore.  I stick with you guys (you're all so fantastic!), my month board, and a couple more topic-specific boards.  It seems with the etiquette board that they exist only to attack the original poster, if they aren't one of the clique, or anyone who dares disagree with them.  I guess my skin just isn't tough enough to go there anymore.

    Which boards are you talking about? Although some of the girls are just there to be bitchy, I think people also need some thicker skin.  If you want to go post about having a dollar dance when 5 threads before it have asked the same thing, you should expect negative feedback, you know?

    I do think, though, that people are generally a little more... blunt? (viscous?) because it's all internet strangers you're talking to instead of face-to-face.

    ive noticed that! i usually don't post on here cuz my wedding is in northern mn but thought i'd chime in cuz we've been talking about it on the Sept 2011 board too...the mod on the favors board is soo mean. cuts down everyones ideas. its redic.

    Steph:::  My experiences haven't been previous posts related. - I can see how answering the same questions would get annoying. I recently just found the Search box at the bottom.

    My experiences include being called Stupid and Need to learn how to Read. But I have seem some pretty nasty person attacks towards others as well. Which no matter how thick a person's skin its completely unnecessary.

    I understand that this is a public forum and that people are going to say what they want no matter what I say or How I feel. I'm just amazed sometimes !

    I've seen that too, Shan. It's terrible. I just remind myself that some poor sap is engaged to those meanies :)

    I would kinda ditto the Favors board, but I havent ventured outside this board much.

    Finished BC and not preventing since June 2010.
    Actively trying for baby #1 since July 2011.
    SA completed 5/29/2012. No sperm found.
    11/12: Dx: Congenital Bilateral Absense of the Vas Deferens.
    Genetic Testing needed as this is a mutation of Cystic Fibrosis.
    IVF #1 with ICSI planned for 2013.
    PAIF/SAIF welcome!

    For the Record its not the only board I have had these experiences with. Just the most recent. :)

    I gave up on all boards except this one long before my wedding.  I actually got the nerve up to post on P&E once.  I had a heavier-set BM who was having a difficult time with dress shopping.  She wanted to try the dress on before buying, but samples just tend to come in a size 10.  So I posted the dress I was thinking about and asked if anyone had used it and had curvy BMs, hoping that maybe I could get a picture to show my BM (I chose P&E because it's national and has a lot of knotties on it).  I was royally attacked for taking my BM's feeling into consideration and not letting her pick out whatever she wanted to wear.  I honestly thought the style would be flattering on her and just wanted to see if someone else had used the style.  I pretty much swore off the board after that.

    Um, there is an entire Board devoted to Favors? That is seriously too much. 

    So of course I had to go over there... and the most recent post is a gal attacking the Mod for being rude. I only read the first few posts but I was kind of cracking up. I don't know how anyone gets so upset about some of this stuff, but it often makes for some good entertainment. Take it with a grain of salt, folks, it's just the interwebs!

    I'll be honest though... there are some crazy mods out there.

    Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I tend to just let the board be 'itself' with the occassional vendor banning.  I try not to post more than if I were just a bride (which I am!)

    This might not be the first time I've heard that.  I may just be nosey ;)  I've been hanging out on the SB board, so I was just wondering if you had a bad experience over there? It's a national board, but it seems to be the nicest one so far (unless you're totally crazy i.e. the girl who wants to force her FI to tan before the wedding.)

    And now I had to copy Steph and find the post you are talking about.  Really?  That was insane!  I don't understand the privacy thing.. is that just because your FI is in the military?  Why would someone want to put your face/church/date together and crash your wedding?  Maybe I'm being naive, but why in the world would anyone ever have the desire to do that?

    I didn't even know there was a Favors board, ya learn something new every day ;-)

    I sometimes post on the Wedding Party board, the girls there are pretty nice. The Moms & Maids board makes me VERY thankful that the people closest to me don't incite drama just because.

    Yeah, there has been a lot of talk about the Favors board mod on the Sept 2011 boards. I definitely agree that some people need thicker skin and shouldn't ask for an opinion unless you're willing to accept blunt answers, but I truely feel bad for the people on those boards that didn't ask for an opinion, that just were looking to share their excitement with someone about ordering their favor or the great new idea they came up with, and get attacked because the mod doesn't think it's a good enough favor or that people will enjoy it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but their is a line between giving advice and simply being mean.

    Big props to the MSP boards for knowing the difference ;-)

    Enchanted - I am assuming its because he is in the military and they are paranoid. To Be honest I have no idea what on earth any person would do- if they crash for a free meal well than fine - but I have already told the wait staff if the person doesn't have a place card they will not get a meal. If they steal someone else's then I'll figure it out then LoL. I doubt anyone will come blow up my wedding because my FI is a pilot.

     I was mostly taken aback because my post was just a random thinking about you girls and hoping all is well. and BAM!!! My Stupidity this and Reading Comprehension FAIL LoL


    I haven't been to the favors board in a while I may have to check it out. I've seen some crazies posting and responding but I may be biased when I say-- I'm not a crazy haha

    Um, holy crap, Shan! I can't believe that beeyatch didn't get that you were just trying to share some happy news! You're an adult, and I'm sure you know not to take candy from strangers, so what you post online is your business!

    And yeah, I just read thru a couple posts on the favors board. Kinda ridiculous...

    I post on the Etiquette board (although I'm spotty enough with my postings now not to be considered a hard-core reg anymore) and even I avoided the Favor boards.

    However, even the meanest Knot board is NOTHING compared to some of those ones on the Nest and the Bump.  Those ladies are a hot mess of crazy.
