Suggestions for place to have dinner on Friday night - gold town/river north/old town

Hello all - we are having our rehersal dinner at my fiance's family's house on Thursday night, mainly b/c my future MIL wanted to have a day to recuparate since she will be planning/cooking. I'm now realizing that there will be a ton of people getting in on firday with nothing to do. I want to try to plan a casual dinner or somethign but can't really afford to host another event so trying to figure out somewhere cheap to go where we could maybe have appetizers or pizzas and a short beer and wine open bar. Most guests are staying in gold coast or river north area. Any suggestions??

Fire place inn, topo gigio, any lou malantis, Chicago Q, Lux Bar, Feast, Big and littles, Market Bistro, Gilt bar, Volare, Quartinos (great for groups), Cafe iberico etc

I dont know what type of food you want or what type of atmosphere you are looking for but this is a little bit of everything. None of these places are expensive. I think they are all middle range.

I agree with pp's; especially Quartino's or Lou's.  Definitely go somewhere that will take reservations

Cafe Iberico (Tapas which you can share and the cheapest sangria I have seen!) or Quartinos!

I didn't even think of this before looking in here.  Cafe Iberico would be great fun.  Tapas would promote socializing.
