Where should I go to get my dress?

Hi Ladies, I will be starting my dress search in the next month or two. Can anyone give me suggestions of where to go to look/buy my dress (I am in the mid-Westchester area)? THanks for any help!

I found my dress at RK Bridal....my consultant was Jo.  I thought I wouldn't want to go into the city, but wound up having a very good experience with them.  Their alteration department has been great so far, too.

Thanks, I'm not really looking to go into the city to find/get my dress. Especially if I need to keep going back for alterations. I would rather stay in the Westchester area.

i did not have a good experience. i would HANDS down recommend amelia's bridal in mount vernon on gramatan avenue. ask to see maria and make sure you make an appointment in advance.

If you haven't tried any dresses on yet, I would reccommend going to Meme's in Larchmont and working with Mary Ann.  She's is super nice and has you try on one of each different type of dress to see what looks good on you rather than what you think you like.  I did not get my dress there, but it was very helpful to have that experience prior to find the 'One.'

I ended up getting my dress at Demetrios in Macy's Herald Sqaure - Angela was great!

    Good Luck!

I bought a BM dress at Fontana's and they were very helpful.  They also have a big selection IMO.

Fontana! I got my Jim Hjelm there and  they had a huge selection. Not sure of every designer that they carry, but I tried on Jim Hjelm, Lazaro, Monique Lhuillier, and Modern Troussaeu.
House of Botticelli in Bronxville sucked. They told me they only had 3 dresses that would "look ok" on me. The woman was completely nasty and said that I "couldn't pull off" a lot of their dresses when Im 5'9 and a size six. I really don't recommend that place at all. They have a lot of prom dresses and BM dresses upstairs, but the bridal section was small.

I went to Botticelli's and was not impressed with their selection or service.

I bought my dress, bridesmaid dresses, and MOB dress at Majesty in Danbury, CT.  Morgana is wonderful, and their prices are fantastic compared to the places I went to in Westchester!  One of my BMs was also impressed, so now she is having all the dresses for her wedding (4 months after mine) done there, too!

I got my dress at Reginella in Orange County. They are so nice and helpful there that I couldn't even imagine anyone being better. Maybe as good, but not better. They don't rush or pressure you. They are willing to work with you to accomadate your wishes.
I don't know how far it is for you to get there, but if it's a reasonable drive, it's worth checking out.

If you go to NJ, you'll save on tax.  Just an idea.  If you do look in NJ, go to Jae Hee Bridal in Englewood.

My wedding is in NJ, I work in Westchester, and live in NYC, but I bought my dress on Long Island...go figure!
