October 2012 Weddings

I just outsourced a few things on my to-do list. Check?

Since one of my good friends from HS launched a wedding planning business a few months ago, and my brain was about to explode, I just hired her to create my day of schedule, photographer shot lis, task list, and contact sheet. I just spent an hour typing up everything up that I have so far (in a very scrambled an unorganized way) and emailed it to her.

Hoping this will be worth it! My brain's about to pop just from the email I sent her!

  • Absolute check! I really need to brainstorm for the photos I want to make sure that I have - or someone to help create that list for me! I'm glad you were able to take some of the pressure off of yourself :)

  • That is awesome!!!  I would LOVE to have someone do the mundane tasks of my day-of lists.  Lucky you!

  • Good work! It will probably save you a headache in the long run!
  • thats definitly worthy of a check- normally not a controlling person myself, but i have handed off zero work to anyone else! lol i just feel like the only way to get it done and get it done the way i want it done is to do it myself!
  • Lol, I'm happily outsourcing anything I can. When I visited my grandma over the summer (part of the trip was for wedding planning in the city I'm getting married in, part was for a famiiy reunion), she grabbed my binder and started looking for things she could help out with. She's now in charge of centerpieces. My FI expressed an opinion about the DJ, and that became his project.

It's very liberating. It's hard enough planning it long distance, so I'm happy to delegate whatever I can.

My planner friend is only charging $100 for all of that, and it's totally worth it to me. We're doing everything by email since she's based in Texas.
