I'm an old Knottie back to offer a recommendation based on a recent experience at Zazu Oakbrook. I've been a huge supporter of Zazu's services throughout my wedding planning and afterwards. I've been going to Zazu Hinsdale for over 10 years and have had outstanding experiences every time. TJ did my hair for the wedding, and I couldn't have been happier. Since my move to Chicago, I've been trying out Zazu Oakbrook because it's slightly more convenient for me.
Two weeks ago, Val did my hair for a formal event and, honestly, she did a better job than TJ. I wanted the same low-do for this event as I had for my wedding, and she took what TJ did with my hair and made it 10,000x better. I was even more impressed because I have substantially shorter hair now than I did for my wedding and Val was able to make me look like I had a ton of it. In any case, I would highly recommend Val at Zazu Oakbrook to any bride looking for wedding day services. Generally speaking, I would recommend Zazu to any bride. They are the most accommodating salon I have ever visited.
For the same event, I chose to have my makeup done at the Bobbi Brown counter at Neiman Marcus, Oakbrook. Unfortunately, it wasn't what I had envisioned. In a panic, I called Zazu Hinsdale to see if they had a MUA on staff to help fix it. They got me in within 20 minutes and the MUA did a perfect job. Highly highly recommend.
