Sensitive skin/skin condition ruin wedding day?

I was just wondering if there are any other brides out there that have sensitive skin or a skin condition. My face either gets too oily or too dry. I also have sebborheic dermatitis which cause my face to have itchy annoying red patches. It mostly shows up on my forehead. I am so worried that my face is going to flare up on my wedding day. I really hope that it doesn't. :/

  • I have that as well as white patches on my arms from eczema. I use a liquid moisturizer from the dermatologist for the dermatitis.

  • I've had nasty flares of dermatitis in the past (around my nose and mouth... ugh) and I'm worried that it will happen in the next month. My face is also very blotchy and dry in the morning (although it gets better after I take a shower, I'm still worried because we have a morning wedding), and I'm incredibly allergic to almost anything, meaning that if a piece of dog hair was to touch my face before the ceremony, I might walk down the aisle with a huge red lump.

My plan is to moisturize really, really well with the Cetaphil moisturizer (only one that doesn't irritate my skin) and to keep far away from anything that could possibly cause allergies the night before and the day of the wedding.
  • I'm not you, and everyone is different, but as someone who has pretty senstive skin, the best thing I did was be diligent about my skin care routine and stayed hydrated and my skin looked great on my wedding day.  Of course, all the stress leading up to it made a cold sore I had the month before come back, on the morning of the wedding.  Thank God for kick-ass concealer, you couldn't see it in my wedding pics, but I freaked out the morning of when I felt it.

I had really good luck with Cetaphil face wash.  It always clears up my acne and keeps my sensitive skin happy.  :)

  • One of my friends kept changing her skin care routine every few weeks before the wedding- the worst thing she could have done.  As someone with sensitive skin myself, I found that (by trial and error), baby sunscreen with a really high SPF keeps my skin happy- the sun drives it insane in the long run.
